Interesting Gold rated in Sterling is now up 5.43% for the past 6 months, 26.98% over 5 years and 479% over 20yrs.

I still cannot see that the Blackrock release is correct of their shareholding in Acacia as it looks to me they have increased not reduced their holding to over 6% and not the other way around?

There will be a good strong reason for this chaps. I have a feeling the Lawyers will be making a presentation no doubt as I have said all along the Lawyers and Insurers are controlling things here, which is usual in a political dispute. I expect options to be given to the shareholders to vote on. i.e, either to accept a deal, (which is expensive for the Company, or continue to litigate where the Lawyers will tell you we have a good good chance of success). I suspect Barrick will go for a deal, and the Lawyers will present a case for either litigation, or a compromise deal. They could easily afford a do at a top class Hotel if they wanted to. There is a reason for this change and to me this now shows why we have different opinions from Acacia and Barrick. .

I am sure talks will be had before and after. The meeting will be very interesting. I am sure the biggest shareholders will be there and so it stands to reason for Acacia to talk before the meeting for a common theme. If Barrick want to buy Acacia they will want it cheap, however if they want to sell their shares they will want the price to rise significantly. I hope we will see progress either way, and indeed with other opportunities that might arise such as additional mines or exploration projects. I think we should look at this as a long term project and may be surprised by what happens, however most on here want a quick fix and we may need to be more patient. No panic in my mind.

I seem to have in my mind we were about £5.73 s share before the sudden falls. I do remember a few years ago trading these shares at close to £7 a share.
I only ever bought these as a Brexit safety stock to begin with, I did top up with more recently and on the way down but even when one looks at buying a safety stock no one really knows what is around the corner but all come back (apart from a few) in the end. I still do not understand why we are really not moving northwards today on better production figs, but I put it down to Mt T and the trade talks, if we get a good outcome this thing will then fly.

This share fell recently on production (which is now back up) also with some buying and selling and playing against the shorters. Once any deal is finally sorted once and for all this thing will fly, possibly 40 to 50% in a day, (as it did before) and then the shorts will have to come in and buy the shares they have already sold but not paid for. I see this returning very quicker to where we were recently at £2,60 plus and maybe more. I am not going to sell at £1.50 I will wait.
If it is true that B/rock increased their share holding they think we will have some news soon too.

Chaps just wondering -it appears to me the recent Acacia RNS release tonight might have B/Rock shareholdings around the wrong way, in that they have most likely increased their holding and not reduced it as suggested. I.e. I am sure they were at 5.22% previously and not 6.08%? & so we might have something coming very soon as the last time they increased they had wind of something coming, rather than us who have just wind!!

Has - agree the Acacia Management are under a duty to protect their own position and are fighting back, Barrick obviously are very aggressive and successful businessmen who will want Acacia at the best possible price. This share price to me looks very, very cheap now and the Company AGM in a weeks time is going to be a very lively affair I am sure.
I wouldn't at all be surprised if another scenario enters the fray soon either. Production is up 37% on the last report too and Gold is still just under $1,300 an oz but up in £ on the day. .

Yes chaps as I was thinking the words tell you a lot. The firm has got production back up which led to recent falls, and the fact the discussions are taking place and Acacia are now willing to debate is even better news here. I can see the share price now rising very quickly back up to £2 as I predicted. I hope Mark Bristow after all the noise can now put his deal together for discussion at the AGM on 15th and so perhaps his time will now be taken up talking with Acacia for the benefit of its shareholders. However I can understand the press statements need to show that all parties are working together and it looks as if Barrick by their actions are considering a hostile bid for Acacia which will actually help the share price further. .

Well done VV, I think you might have something in Barrick knowing the true worth of Acacia, especially from an expansion point of view, if you have followed my posts you will know that has been my feeling as well. We have a lot of potential scenarios here. I do feel we will need something now from Acacia to clear a few areas of confusion up and certainly before the AGM later in the month. I suspect they were hoping to wait until then to discuss the different shareholder options but now that MB has been speaking to the press it may have forced their hand.

I am sure we may now see something now from Acacia, as no doubt they will have their press office reading all the articles printed today and lets be honest they have a duty to return to shareholders the best possible options and suggestions.
Who can predict what will happen next thing one will say is that Tottenham will emulate Liverpool to make the Champs league final! As I say £2 in three weeks!!

It does seem as if MB is now openly talking and I did hear things were going on behind the scenes. However now all is out in the open as you all say the forthcoming AGM will certainly now be lively. I can see us moving closer now to a final deal. After all you can't blame Acacia for resisting as some will no doubt lose they jobs in any takeover or reorganisation, especially the senior Management?

For tier 1 & 2 assets to benefit all stakeholders, a consolidated process, this is not a "Fire-Sale" we expect to add value to assets, with other Countries and Companies willing to contribute, Barrick will still support those "Host" Countries, time is taken to find the right buyers for the assets, he also expects Gold prices to rise which will help the industry.

He certainly gives me belief.

Also Acacia have now confirmed the AGM to be 23rd May -so maybe we could some more news in production back on line to hit targets and also talks news!. I have heard progression is being made behind the scenes. Time will tell.

Gold now 1285.38 tonight (not far off going over 1300 again). Dow down heavily. Maybe the far Eastern MKTS will help Gold overnight.

Hopefully this will fuel an early rise tomorrow.

Funnily enough some feel May and Corbyn might have to do a quick Brexit deal now before the euro elections as they are very much afraid of Nigel Farage's Brexit party, especially after losing so many councillors in the recent local elections..

Well he certainly looks at things differently to most people and he looks into Companies far deeper than the majority (including analysts) he will buy a Company he can add value to, and/or will take over Companies that would provide increased income to a standard rate.
If he comes in here he will actually help my prediction of this being a Company now at a great price, to which he could find a solution and add value. However he is not the only one that could.

As I say chaps hold on = £2 plus in 3 weeks!!
