Charlie Chaplin, a deft investor, forseen the Wall Street Crash, and instantly sold his holdings. He tried to warn family, friends and anyone who would listen to him at dinner parties... to little or no avail. Apparently, he got more laughs during this period than he did from cinema audiences watching his latest movie! Charlie had the last laugh... But, as he later said, not the sort of laugh he'd have wished for.
