DLG comes up on HL site as 5.32% div yield for 2018. Not bad but way short of Bdev's 2017 round-up divi which should be repeated if not increased this year. Going up nicely if not rapidly, this. Buying another lot at 534p yesterday was a right move and brought down my average. And every little helps in this game! Can only see this going UP until ex div day. Going the other way now wouldn't make much sense. So... buy cheap while you still can. Yeah, wish I'd bought twice as many yesterday at that price! Then if I had - having had to put the speed boat and private jet up for sale to raise the cash - I'd probably wished I'd bought even more!! Lol

say you buy at around 540p then the sp climbs to 700+p by EX div day -It's hardly gonna fall below 540 on its descent. So IF you WERE to sell you wouldn't be out of profit on the transaction. And then you patiently wait for the SP to drop further and with your wad of cash burning a hole in your pocket, buy back in at a lower price and wait for the next div hit. But you, and not meaning to put the boot in, KD37, for we've all been there, mate, bought high. So you should indeed just HOLD and hope that the sp goes up to 8 0r 900! Wouldn't that be nice?

you won't lose out if you sell your holding after div pay-out day. That's my little secret out of the bag! As if you didn't know that already but just needed reminding.

Just got in, and logged on. A right old blue day today. Wouldn't be because of the Interim div looming closer? Remember, the more shares you got - LADIES and gentlemen - the more div payout you get. AS IF YOU DIDN'T KNOW THAT ALREADY. Trump Tower here I come.

Just topped up - interim div will pay for a nice long weekend at Trump Tower with all the trimmings.

Well, you might not have to wait too long on that. Read that more women buy shares now than men. So we've got to be extra nice to them - which has always been my motto - on this board. Yes, besides book clubs, the fairer and, some would say, brighter sex (myself included) have stock-and-share get-togethers where 'potential buys' are discussed over a glass or two of bubbly... So KD7 - nicely-nicely does it in future. On approaching the 'modern woman', KD37, have no fear... I think there'll be a lot of books coming out on that subject soon.

First bought these at a pound then after credit crunch they dived to 50p. Took a while for them to get up to 180p. Don't think there was even a div then. Bdev has been good to me. You don't switch footie team just cause they lose a few matches, do you?

Just had a quick look at the trade page. UT of 4+m, so not too bad of a blue day! Against my gut feeling, went maverick and bought some Redrow shares yesterday on strength of their robust report. In about five hrs they'd dropped almost 6% - losing my touch, wouldn't recognize a stable floor now if I stood on it. But like Bdev, it's a good company, and it'll come back as well. In normal times both these shares would be flying...
