A good seasonal book is "Investing for Dummies". I've read most of these Smart books over the years and IFD makes the most sense of this game. Since I took their advise and became my own fund manager, my returns have increased greatly. It is not a widely known fact that only 26% of fund mangers make a return for their clients. I sold, then bought in again at a lower price, then the price dropped further, and I had a long wait (I know, don't tell me) till 'the water rose again'. The SP will certainly go down again this time... but then quickly go back up, I think. So it could be a case of TAKE and HOLD for a double whammy. But... DYOR.

Anyone remember what the sp was on this day last year? I know it wasn't anywhere near what it was on pre ex-div day. A lot of little and big peeps started buying in those weeks prior... taking it to the big magical 7 spot.

Good price dividendchaser. Was in TW few times myself over the years and made a little bit. But what you did was right and in a little while you'll be glad you did what you did. This is the top of the tree building company in my book. Can't tell you how much dosh I've made from them over the last 10+ years. Certainly compensated for the dodgy stock I bought that's still smouldering at the bottom of my portfolio!
