By your premise then... what ALL builders need to do is: overpay their CEOs, build shoddy property, give out slanted news via an over-heated PR machine ( I refer you to the Harlow town case)and... they - all builders - will become a good, not to miss investment opportunity once the lift hits the bottom floor.

On Anglia News tonight: People are moving out of Persimmon new build houses and flats in Harlow because of myriad faults... An example of minor faults - hot and cold taps fitted wrong way round. Hot taps giving out cold water and cold taps giving out hot water. And washers not fitted either... leading to flooding... 'Surely, these are elementary things, dear Watson.' All that you say is on record; but at the end of the day potential property-buying peeps are savvy enough to go on line to see how many of their boxes a Builder ticks. This is an important fundamental that decides a company's future profit/loss. Be interesting to know the total cost of Persimmon's 'snagging' bill. (Nothing in my crystal ball!) Yes, the large stain of this will not wash away easily.

Ricky317, if I was a cynical sort of person, I'd say you were invested in PSN! This is not a 'short term blip' with Persimmon Homes. A lot of damage has been done to the company's 'constructional integrity'. Barratt Homes went through a similar experience in the 70s, and it took them years to recover.

Looks like home buyers are giving Persimmon Homes the cold shoulder and looking to purchase higher quality homes. And can you blame them?

Well, you've got to laugh otherwise you'd cry. Hey, I got... £43.28 left in this (from £25k). But hey if I cashed in I could buy myself a load of shares now for £43.28! Thank goodness dealing in other stocks over the last ten years has wiped out this pitiful loss, otherwise I'd be crying into my cornflakes every morning.

I have come to the conclusion that they couldn't run a piss up in a brewery. Over these years I have seen posters (old friends) 'disappear' - some victims of prostate cancer, no doubt. Like some current optimistic posters on here, they, too, had great hopes for Val, believing to the bitter end in those who managed (mismanaged) her. If there are winners in this, it is the BOD who have collected substantial salaries and self-gifted tidy bonusses over the years.
