share price dropped5 Jun 2009 18:15
because rutley has breached the bank covenant. however, they are still running. the only danger is at any time, the bank can call in the administrators. i am inclined to believe that the banks will work with the property market instead of forcing them into adminsitration. this is because it is a lot more work for the banks to sell off/dispose properties or even manage the disposal. TW is a good example of a property builder that recovered. another one is IPI which is a property fund - they are far worse, having surpassed the covenant ratio by about 20%. but, they are still running and shares are still being traded on the market. i'm not stuck here but if i were and i don't need the cash, i'd write them off from my portfolio instead of selling at a loss. then, get down on my knees and pray. =)
however, please don't take my word for it. if u have a big holding here, perhaps sell some shares off....just in case.
