i was wondering if u felt it when this dropped yesterday...i know some of us did. =) the slightly good news is it looks like the price of titanium MAY have bottomed out. other than that, i cannot see any other reason why the share price is so low. if TXR can get D2 up and running., they may be able to fill their 2009 orderbooks after all. they need to maximise economies of scale as much as possible, as soon as possible. behindthegame, welcome aboard - good luck.

had a quick look at the annual report again. the company is still at least 6 times undervalued. NAV excluding intangibles of USD$101m but market cap of less than £10m only. excerpts from the report :- "Since the year end, we have been encouraged by the continued strength in demand for SRL’s high quality rutile, with orders for 2009 exceeding our current production capacity." "During the year the Company has successfully implemented significant cost cutting measures and the new low cost heavy fuel oil power plant has increased efficiency.Workforce reductions and the suspension of all exploration activities by the Company have also resulted in a considerable reduction in costs. In addition, the Company has successfully negotiated a moratorium of interest payments to the Government of Sierra Leone in relation to the US$45 million loan from the EU, significantly improving TRG’s short term cash flows." "The Company has a strong balance sheet with no significant re-financing requirements during 2009. The Company’s gearing ratio is still low despite writing off a US$86 million deferred tax asset. The Company expects to maintain a current assets to current liabilities ratio of 2:1 over the 12 months ahead." it should be ok if u can afford to hang on.

cheers mate - i can't remember the financials here. do u know? i think it should be ok or i would not have invested here. the price drop is due to titanium prices slipping, i assume. yes, it is painful and i have thought about leaving but i can still hold till next year if necessary. i'm just concerned about the metal price! we need more updates from the company.

"We still think that core inflation will fall sharply over the next year or so in response to the general weakness of demand and opening up of a large amount of spare capacity. Meanwhile, it seems quite clear now that food inflation – one of the strongest components over the last year – is on a downward trend and could fall considerably further. Accordingly, we still see scope for inflation to drop a fair bit further – to 1% or less – by the late summer." could fall considerably further. if forecast comes true, cost of sales could fall for UNIQ.

do not panic. remember that UNIQ does not have any short-medium term fatal covenants and Marie is profiting so UNIQ does not have to sell Marie and will probably only sell it if they get a good price. moreover, besides a sale, the alternative path UNIQ could take may be a merger with European convenience food producers, like Bakkavor and Greencore, which would result in better efficiency in cost savings and synergy. they have stated that they would rather focus on UK operations alone but the above is still a possibility, imo.

do u mean property shares? i hope u understand why this share price is so low despite having a NAV of over £3. this is not a share you can buy and sleep over it as the problem of funding remains a threat. if u buy in here, you have to constantly watch for updates. as mentioned, at the moment it seems QED are still trying their best to avoid a rights issue(and strong objection from an institutional shareholder) but they have admitted it is an option. so don't invest too much into this share!

the USD$1bn orderbook backlog that they have has not been priced into the share price. i've been studying the fortunes of this company for a while now. i see margins improving through the last year and expecting an upwards of 10% gross. with so many costs that have been cut(i.e. over 50% of Delta-T's workforce has been retrenched!), i reckon we will see a much better improvement to their balance sheet after reporting 1H 2009 in july/august - the one to watch out for is the liquidity test. if they were meant to go down, the bank would have called in the administrators last year but covenants were extended, hence these steps being taken to avoid another breach. i reckon the fact that a prominent figure in rothchild decided to put their faith in BNLN placed the company on iii's radar screen again. perhaps we may see rothchild investing here soon? director buys were back in october 2008 and they have made quite a few improvements already, with the latest being the addition of Lord Balfour on the board(to regain trust) and concluding Delta-T litigation previously. the figures will come, just a matter of waiting.
