hmmm....i wouldn't say it is cause for cheer in the coming update. read these regarding Q2 trading update from BMW and Toyota :- http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8182816.stm BMW sales april-june was down 76% which is a lot. for the same period, toyota made a loss of £483m :- http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8182773.stm this will affect what TTG reports on the coming update and to be honest, it doesn't look favourable when it comes to their involvement in the automotive industry.

u sure caught it good at 8.7p. for me, the drop and subsequent rise happened too fast and although i saw the drama unfold before my eyes, i was actually in the midst of a meeting at work - didn't want to be caught logging in to buy QED shares if the CEO asked for my opinion on the subject matter! =)

regarding what rayfan said - JPR is not totally safe as they haven't cleared some fundamentals. i'm just speculating they will come good because it seems like business as usual for them. once they have their finances sorted(and it seems that way), you probably won't get their shares below 20p again. dyor!

property & finance is closely related so i can only assume all property companies are ticking up due to that. with QED, assume what you may but for a penny share less than £1, a 14p uptick in one day is not normal, imo. heck, it's been swinging wildly in 10p ranges since monday! to be frank, i don't really care what happens here because i'm sitting tight for another 3 years. you care, because you've sold out. =)

i saw TXR shot up from 4p to 6p, then came back down to 4+p, all within one trading session. i was trying to figure out why. could find no other reason except someone on iii spamming every thread with a rumour saying the insurance claims by TXR have been successful. so yeah, it does make a difference. TXR was the one i remember clearly, although i have witnessed this a few times on other stocks...

is costain better managed than WHY? do they have the same problems? have u done a comparison between them two? cheers... as for QED, another 12p rise on no news again today. i suspect this is being ramped on another BB...

lol...i remember u saying that ages ago. while i won't contest that, i bought in because i had faith in the direction eaton was taking the company. he turned marie into a profit(although not for Q109), turned northern european businesses into a profit and soon, the UK should be next in line. smaller revenue numbers but hopefully bigger EBITDA. soon to be debt-free and pension deficit should decrease as the economy recovers hopefully starting Q4 2009/Q1 2110. it's a recovery play in the works!!!

when UNIQ confirmed they'd found a buyer for Marie, they estimate 3 months to find a buyer for the northern european businesses. haven't caught up with UNIQ news lately but from before, they were going to either sell or merge those businesses.

hope you know now - don't buy in after a 20p rise in 2 days!!! =) definite retrace on the cards when something like that happens with shares below £1. i wish i'd bought a bigger quantity of QED instead of investing more in TW which has practically stayed stagnant for ages now. still contemplating to pull out of TW and put that money in BHY or TEF for the long term.

the majority of news that appeared in the weekend seemed to focus on the fact that BAE's future is uncertain after 2014 when they have fulfilled the fighter jet order. i'm sure they will find more avenues of business till then but if the market decides to price in the uncertainty now, it may drop below £3 for some time(could be wrong but possible). so i bought into WMH instead. =)

looking back, british airways announced a £150m loss a few days ago, shares only dropped to 130p when 52 week low was 118p. look at it today, 150p and still rising. on the contrary, WMH reported a profit of £91.5m(-18%) on the back of a £516m(+5.6%) revenue and major cost cut move to gibraltar and they are starting to pay dividend again, of 2.5p. i'm not waiting for the 52 week low. momentum traders will push this share price up eventually. you can keep on waiting for the 52 week low which may never come or u can put a foot in now, then top up if it hits that low. your choice, your call - dyor!

if u bought just a few, then perhaps leave it. QED jumps by 10p every once in a while based on past behaviour. this 20p in two days was the highest i've seen it spike. and i suspect it's because the MM had a large order to fill(last 2 times were director buys) and nobody was selling as this is an unknown share. for me, a comfortable level to enter again would be around 70p but not sure.

i got out this morning and bought into WMH.

bought in today. the RNS update is conservative in nature. football season starts august and they are the first to take steps to cut new tax implications by moving to gibraltar(will increase profit levels). oversold. dyor.
