That makes sense to me Jan, but just because it makes sense doesn't mean it'll pan out. I don't know, but I have a gut feeling we'll see a negative reaction if there is no change to the EPL. I agree with what you say, but the hope of a change to the EPL being announced on Thurs has not caused the SP to rise, despite it being clear that some on this discussion board (representing a fraction of the total) have been bying in anticipation. I hope we'll see a floor put in. I don't think it's guaranteed our SP will hold steady if we don't see positive change. Only time will tell.

I've been trading this a bit recently to the long side. I normally don't hold over out of hours news. I'm assuming the results will be released to the US this afternoon rather than this morning here. I've not seen anything. Good results will have us flying and I've taken a small position to exploit that. Just have to wait to see now. Any close over 675 would have this appearing to be a 123 bottom formation, that's normally followed by a good rise. Until that's confirmed however, its just speculative on my part to get involved.

We are the market and many of us think the same Jan. Can you imagine what will happen to our SP if there is not positive progress on Thursday?

Fingers crossed we get floor price for the EPL. That would surely give relief on the SP. Best to keep in mind the risk of a labour government and the risk of recession and further falls in the POO.

I'm not sure what's brought this off this morning, but if the SP closes below 221 then the chances of a fall to 160-165 or lower increase substantially. The probability of see prices that low becomes much higher if the SP closes a day below 219.

For those negative about TA etc, this'll play to your strengths. I've had to redraw the top right of the diamond pattern. This time I had not entered so didn't lose anything. The SP could still very well be within a diamond pattern. What we need to find out is whether or not it is a diamond bottom.

It's vague mapper99, but I'm grateful you're trying to explain it. It looks as if it could be useful data if I can pin it down in my mind. Shorttracker (only declared positions ie. above 0.5%) shows around 6% with little movement in that figure. Obviously it's likely to be higher than that with some shorts falling below the 0.5% declaration limit. An example is ENQ, recently a short was increased by 0.01% and that made it visible as it reached the 0.5% declarable limit.

SP is currently break up from the diamond pattern. There's an upside gap to close at around 485 which fits with an upside target from the triangle of about 45p. Doesn't mean it'll happen and I won't enter tonight as I don't want to accumulate risk at the moment.

OK, I'm in the right place, but I'm not sure I understand that data. Some companies have 80 to 279% of their stock on loan. I suspect That can't all be short. TUI AG is apparently 57% short. Doesn't make obvious sense to me so I guess that this data needs careful consideration to underrstand it. Did you look into how to interpret it?

I sucked up my medicine in the form of a loss, but have had to redraw the bottom right side of the diamond. Technically, the SP is still within the redrawn pattern.
15% short, maybe more. That is an awful lot, is that data available to all of us?

The way I see it, the SP is now breaking to the downside. The diamond pattern seems quite convincing and this could lead to a drop of 45p or so. That's not so great as I re-entered hoping for a rise today. I'll not hang around long before taking this loss.

How crazy is that, Dow was almost 500 down and now it's 23 up. Mad world, panic, volatility. Fingers crossed it'll be ok tomorrow.
