No idea why, but CCL popped up and we followed them. I think we'll start to hold some of our gains from here. Start to build into a good SP rise. I think 755-760 is not that far away.

Timely discussion it would seem. I'm just reading that Hunt has agreed the tax burden on British business is too high, but that there might not be any headroom to reduce it before the next election! More to do with the election than to do with the state of our economy. I don't think they can afford to offer it up as an election weapon for Labour. They've trapped themselves

My guess would be early in a new term the conservatives would change the EPL. That would give them time for the public to move to other ideas. If Labour wins, they might find they've been stuck with an ugly baby when it becomes obvious to the public that the EPL is not helping our economy, their tax harvest, employment or energy independence (i.e. not doing anything useful). Under those conditions they could easily change it themselves claiming it be an awful tory policy disaster to win favour with the electorate. If labour win it would probably end up being a vote winner to water it down. The conservatives have really backed themselves into a corner on this one. For labour, then if they back down (easier with a new leader I guess) they'll end up looking good. If the conservatives back down now, labour will have a field day exploiting the morally corrupt tories who have a complete lack of conviction in protecting our environment.

Personally SU, I think you're point in the current climate of a great deal of public support for green policies, carbon capture, wind, electric, hydro-electric and now even nuclear (who whould have believed that in the 70's/80's and Just Stop Oil protestors able to hold the country to ransom without much fear of the state retaliating against their actions using correct judicial procedure, then you're spot on. It would be a gift to Labour in their election campaigns, you can imagine the headlines about conservatives not caring about the environment etc now. For goodness sake, they were making personal digs against each based on their attitudes to how to punish paedophiles quite recently. There are actually members of the judicial system happy to say that they would not prosecute Just Stop Oil protesters even in cases of criminal damage, deaths caused by their actions, time lost by workers and businesses etc. These people appear to be state sponsored. If that's true, the chances of scrapping the EPL moving towards an election would seem low to me.

Thanks Mike, I was going to add that I'd imagine it was a no further capital raises 'planned' situation. Impossible to to see into the future for us or management or anyone else so it can't be 100% ruled out. However, I see that as saying we've a good window of time before anything new would be considered.

Did the board not explicitly say it was the last RI, there would not be further ones? For the near future, I'd have said that barring something from a long way 'off-field', the dilution is done, the funds have been raised and the company needs to settle into whatever the economic environment throws at us.

I have to go out so I've bought the rest back at 525. 17-18p advantage. Actual profit I've taken is small as my average is somewhere around 540, coming down a little though!

I think you'll be rewarded as the price drops to 525 or so. I did the same but at over 540 so I took a small profit. I actually moved that money to HBR

According to LSE, total volume was 1.35 million. I seriously doubt that a trade anywhere close to 2 million shares was dropped on to the open market. I didn't see the trade, but would suspect if that was reported, it will have been a trade away from the open market.

I'm watching too, CCL also on the rise. Any idea what's causing it. Doesn't seem to be specific to TUI.

You can almost pre-imagine the Panorama exposé in 10 years time (in fact you could make it now, ready for instant use in a few years when the public cotton on) on how successive governments sold the environment down the river while bathing in the warm glow of the publics adulation for all their clever green policies.
