Volume is steadily coming down day be day, natural true range for the SP is still fall and the SP appears to be trying to move up again. Quite a nice broad bottom in place and I'm thinking that the sellers might be run out of stock which would allow us to start a sensible move to the upside.

Amazing how much confusion there is on this issue. If the US do start to restock their SPR, could that force a short sqeeze on the hedgies or does the risk of recession trump that.

The economy in China has really slowed down and for some metrics e.g. import/export it was really not good at all in April, that's even when compared against a weak comparator for April last year. If that doesn't right itself that could have a big impact internationally and might help to push other countries into recession. That probably wouldn't support much of a rise in oil prices. I don't have the personal expertise to really judge, but it does seem logical that it might be something of a drag on world trade.

There's a suggestion on ADVFN that the selling is related to funds dropping their positions as HTG will be relegated from the FTSE250. That could explain the fall.

It's no dog proctor, just out of favour for the moment. An 8% divi, very much like a fresh gypsy turd is not to be sniffed at. It beats average expectations of gains on the market.

SP looks very keen to test the 560 area. Looking good for higher than that I'd say afterwards.

The way the land lies at the moment, that seems to be quite litterally the truth. More games by candlelight with the family, no telly, heating, lighting, internet. I remember it (albeit before internet and not long after we got a phone at home!!). Fun times.

That was interesting, sudden jump up to 16.4 then back to 16. Can't see anything in the trade history on LSE yet, but I assume there was some related activity.

Is it related to the Biden stating he's going to start buying back into the SPR but simultaneously continuing his selling. That was a mixed message. Add to that the build in Oil inventory which seemed signficant, there's a real possiblity that Oil is actually going to fall further. Is that capping progress on SP?

JG68, that thought came from something I read on Morningstar. At the time, and I've not checked back, they had 2 weaknesses that held them back from rating HTG as having significant upside. One of them was their financial position. You'd have to go back to that source material to understand it better. But from my own perspective, this SP drop is unusual. Perhaps, as I stated earlier, this is simpley related to lower gas/oil prices leading to reduced activity in their bread and butter sectors, but it's a big drop. I guess there could be an expectation of further drops in POO & G, but G is pretty low at the moment and POO is now below it's multi-year average. I have to say I did not expect the SP to hit 200.

I think price will drop back to 538/539 or lower, but won't fall far. I won't trade that and will assume, as I said yesterday that we're starting a more stable move to the upside.

Lot's of progress over at EZJ, but a loss is a loss. They seem to be being hit with fuel costs, inflationary pressures and an inability to increase their prices due to their competitive position (i.e. there's lots of it).
