Jadestone Energy ‘extremely undervalued’
Gas and oil production company Jadestone Energy (JSE) has faltered on concerns over production and funding, but SVM manager Sam Vecht believes these are ‘misplaced’.
Vecht holds the Citywire Elite Companies A-rated business in his SVM World Equity fund, where it makes up 3.8% of the £12.5m portfolio.
In the most recent update for the fund, Vecht said the stock had been the largest detractor despite full-year results being ‘largest as expected’.
He said the falls centred around ‘concerns over funding and full-year production’.
‘We feel both are misplaced,’ he explained. ‘The group is in the final stage of funding discussions to agree a reserves-based lending facility which should resolve the former and given the experience of the last 12 months, management are rightly being conservative in their guidance for the latter.’
Vecht added that the stock is ‘extremely undervalued at current levels’.
The shares traded sideways at 49p yesterday.
