Thanks Stille, but I've done this sort of thing before and it doesn't always pay out. It's frustrating (in hindsight) when you realise being patient could have got you a new house and what you end up with is a fancy new handle for your front door. It's also frustrating though to watch what might have been a good profit turn into a fish supper as you sit and watch and hope. There's no way of seeing the future. I think the overbought state of the markets will make me feel good about moving towards cash in the near future. As I keep stating I think TUI will get to 760-800 soon enough (but when soon enough is, I don't know).

That Bhants is the beauty and the horror of not being able to see into the future. What we actually need here is a tear in the time space continuum. For the moment though, I'm 50 pips to the good. SP sitting on what might be argued to be a support (although not necessarily a strong one), there's another, potentially more convincing support around 1145 (daily chart). The SP is in a uptrend (the trend is your friend so I'm taking a risk), but I think for the moment the downside is favoured. I'm lucky enough to have space for a stop to prevent/limit losses if I'm wrong. .

I've been short from 1290 area. For my money, it is not unlikely tha the SP will drop to 1075 or the 990 area or even further.

Those declared shorts are useful information that I'd prefer to be aware of. That's a shame.

Could be wrong SK of course, but I have feeling general markets are not as strong as some would like them to be and that often leads to trading opportunities. If it turns out that I'm right, you could argue that any price drop is actually from a kind of tripple top. These often give good drops. Tripple top is perhaps not the right description in this case, but it's tried the 610 area 3 times now and looked to weaken there today. One has to try and sometimes it pays and sometimes it doesn't . I also dropped 10,000 HTG at 268. In both cases I wanted to lock in profit and in both cases I have plenty of shares left and now a lot more cash (I was overstretched) to profit from any trading opportunities.

I just dropped another 5000 shares around 601. Reasonable chance it'll come off along the same lines as CCL. Longer term I still believe TUI is better placed than CCL, but I have to lock in profit. I'll buy back at around 517 if we see it.

For the moment it looks to have found a little selling at 610 area. It's not confirmed, but as a precaution I've closed out the last of my leveraged positions (afterall, that is a trading account). I haven't yet sold more shares.

Just been looking at the chart more closely and 304 or above looks quite likely in the absence of news (either company or sector specific or just a shock to the general markets)

610 looks like a potential rersistance. Be interesting to see what happens there if we get there. If that was rejected, a moderate short might pay.

That was from 6th of July. So far, aforementioned cheeky short is in the money and I'm hoping to see the SP on CCL come off to 1082 or lower. I'll place stops before that to prevent any losses. I would not have shorted TUI, I think we're better placed, although I still don't view 517 or lower as unlikely.

MSM, so far I'm wrong this time round and very happy to be wrong as I retain the bulk of my positions. Still worth being aware of the downside risk. If there was a turn, the areas I highlighted remain worth considering, but I think now we'd need some negative news company specific (a rush to expand; ie a need for more cash? No idea, but something) or a big change in the their market. Clearly this mornings announcement has been well received. Worth looking at CCL, that doubled over a small number of weeks and looked unstoppable. It's currently easing off with no company specific news, just the general realisation that the pent up demand is still not leading to profit and without profit, they will struggle at some point. Nothing is certain in the world, but so far I'm wrong. I had hoped to get the drop to clear up what I view as a technical risk, before buying back again. Don't lose track of that downside gap.

I feel like a bit of a no b Stille, letting myself go like that. It's all going through my mind though!

I've started to buy back at 221/222. Bit early, but surprised by how big the drop is.

Best to wait for 536 or 517 in my view. Even if you're right about MMs, they don't behave randomly, they're playing to rules, looking for value, entering at very specific areas.

That was a bit of a rant Stille, sorry about that. I do get annoyed though hearing about entitled people moaning about having to go to work. They seem to have lost track of the fact that their employers are paying them because of a particular set of skills that they have to do a job that will lead to a profit for the company and the employment of more people. They just think it's a right to get money for doing nothing at home but make bottles for the baby and do the dishes. It's crazy and has to change.
