RE: HBR - Outstanding Results24 Aug 2023 08:36
NAV, always a niggling worry when there's a background shorting campaign going on. It's often the case that short positions lose money (often a lot) though so I'm trying not to fixate too much on that. I guess with the background idea that the world is heading into a global recession (feeding into reduced oil demand theories), stock markets are perhaps over-valued and sensitive to any force that might be viewed negatively then the short might have a good chance of allowing Taconic out without a loss or even with a profit. But the underlying story for HBR is strong for the next 20 years or so (guess) in the absence of the EPL or a Labour government. Might be a rough ride, but if HBR can diversify away from the UK, this could be a very good place to have money invested.
No-one can see into the future, this is just the way I view things.
