Ahhhh, that explains a lot. Its the usual midway short. GLG this time. Not one to have shorted Boo much before. Prob a bit inexperienced with when they should cover. Be warned GLG this share moves up quickly. RBC got burnt badly. Cover now, cover now hahaha

Only a couple of months ago everything was very positive? We all knew Brexit was coming, the Trade Wars have been around for a while, why the sudden change of heart? Nothing has changed fundamentally about the company. People will spend EVEN more this Black Friday. Look forward to the Jan results. Everything can seem Doom and Gloom one minute and then all of a sudden sentiment changes to a more positive one. This Tech sell off will pass.Some steam has had to come out of the markets for a while and its the only way the world can make money is on the ride back up again. If anything, just buy more. When its back at £2.50 next quarter, you will wish you did.

Seems like people are panicking needlessly today. Yes, retail sales fell back a bit. but companies like Boo are much better able to react to these changing weather conditions with their nimble supply chains. Few resignations from cabinet, few more strops in the US Markets. Its all short term emotional trading. The FTSE hasn't even ended up that much down today, just hovering around the 7000 mark, which i admit is not a great signal, but it never fails to amaze me as to how quickly sentiment changes. No matter what happens with Brexit and all the speculation, young girls will always want to go out and party and buy fast fashion. Online is the now and the future. Ignore drops like today because in a months time this volatility will have smoothed out and we will start to make new ground. I have topped up today and am happy to hold well into next year.

TBH - I just think it has just got stuck in a range and at the moment there is little catalyst to give it a boost. fairly typical Boo behaviour when you are get near mid way between results. Sometimes it tracks the broader market, but seems to be doing its own thing at the mo. It is frustrating at the mo as its anyones guess as to whether it will break resistance at £2.20 or support at £2.10. Trying to trade it a bit and keep just missing out on the daily bottom. Not always easy from work though lol

I really thought we might break through £2.20 this time or find support at £2.15. Bit of a sudden drop this afternoon. Might be due to the Nasdaq sell off. I hope to god those sells weren't a hedge fund getting back in. I think £2.10 is a good entry, but I will hold out to see if it moves to £2.00 and average out. I wouldn't read much into Boo doing a bit of discounting, just keeping the sales ticking over. Lets hope for a Santa rally his year.

Nice rise this morning and yesterday. Not sure why it suddenly pulled back? The Shorter's have retreated so there is not much to hold it back unless a new one opened up this morning. FTSE flying as well. Seems like the consensus is that the tax won't be a burden for BOO so I would imagine a bit of momentum and it will head back towards £2.30 before Christmas.

This has now fallen almost 40p from its recent high. It must be around the bottom for the time being. Its the same old pattern with the Hedge Funds drip feeding sells causing a consistent daily drop. I'd expect a large bounce off £2.00. Markets will rebound in the run up to Christmas and Online Sale will break records. The Online Sales Tax is a bit of posturing from the government and from what i can see it won't affect Boo. Even if it did, its only 2%, not till 2020 and would apply to all Boos competitors so at least it would be an even playing field. Boo is also earning lots of revenue from outside the UK where it wouldn't apply. I'm back in. If it drops, I'll be holding. Less exposed this time so i can hold for the longer term. I mean will Boo never ever get to £3.00? ever?

Didn't he say not on Consumer goods because that would hurt the customer? and not till 2020?

Perhaps that was the small jump. i guess analysts will be digesting as we speak.

I remember their revenue's were unbelievable but profit was just non existent and they were burning cash like nobody's business. They kept over promising and under delivering. I woke up one day and had lost £20K on the open. Visa pulled out and that was it. Some big lessons learn't there and luckily made far more back purely on trading Quindell (another Aim horror show) and getting in early on BOO. Think I will be learning for the rest of my days though albeit im 36. Anyway, looking forward, still not seeing a good entry point at the mo. Really want to see if the FTSE breaks some key supports and what the budget outlook is on Monday. I think buying now, will be a safe bet if you are willing to hold for a 6 months + but short term I think I would be happier at £2.00. Very annoying that Capeview and AHL are knocking about. They always seem to re-appear midway between updates. 1onic - Yes all in cash apart from some Equity Income funds. My broker doesn't allow for shorting, but if I had more time to devote to where / when to short I would. If only to hedge out some risk.

Boo actually seems to have held up quite well considering all of the Market negativity. It was always going to fall back from its recent high (£2.40's), but with two shorts on it now I would have thought it would have hit £2.00. Shows there is some robust support and appetite for buying as soon as it falls back. I have been trading 1 - 2% moves here and there and making a bit, but still finding it hard to gauge the entry and exit points. Wondering if it is wise to steer clear until the budget comes out next week. If there is news of an Online Tax I'd imagine Boo will take a bit of a hit especially as investors are super sensitive to the idea possible missed earnings targets. Still very positive on the long term trend, but there really is a perfect storm brewing in the wider Macro environment. Perhaps its time to accept the maturity of the markets and that money is going to start shifting away from equities. Although having said that, it seems the Bond markets are also difficult to read with Yields doing unexpected moves. I dunno all seems very risky interms of where to park your capital at the mo. Perhaps its best to just stick it in, let the volatility play out and have another look in six months time. It doesn't matter how many times i see the markets drop and eventually fly back, it still unnerves me. Perhaps its memories from Monitise that have made me paranoid. Not sure if if anyone invested in them?

£2.20 seems like a fair entry point imo looking at the longer term chart. The drop yesterday may have been a gift. Looking like the DOW is going to rise sharply on the open. Wonder if it will give this a kick?

Spot the poster that uses the word "bail" in every sentence. I have no agenda to talk it down, especially as it what i type here will make not one iota of difference to how the share price performs, but if you don't think this is due a large pull back soon you are on a different planet. Any share with an uptrend as steep as that is only going to fall back to some level of support as sharply and I guess it to be £2.20. I trade through my ISA (but kept my SIPP investment in) and sold out too early, but how they hell could you predict what the share price was going to do on results day. Best to bank profits if you are overly exposed.

I agree. I lost my nerve once it hit the £1.90s last week and traded out. I was way over exposed having averaged down and got too cautious about the guidance for next year. Even though I think its more immune to Brexit than most, its the way the market reacts to the slightest negativity. Sales were always going to be good with the Summer we had.

So on the one hand I am happy that I took some profit as things could have easily gone the other way, but have missed out on making a hell of a lot more. Very pleased for others though, so nice to see it rise and in not such a volatile fashion. Looks like £2.50 is on the cards and the long term chart is looking much nicer with higher bases between results / updates. Although looking at how steeply it has risen this is due a fall back for a better entry. In the run up to Christmas there will be unexpected things that will give it a knock and shorters will inevitably appear when the valuation looks toppy again. Just need to finesse my entry and exit points, but then don't we all lol

ha, yeah, i checked after my post and was surprised. Just seems strange not to see a reduction with some of the big moves up.

Excellent day. Typical selling off at the end. Was hoping to finish above £1.90, but tbh the more we hit that resistance, the bigger the breakout when we do. Waiting to see the Short Tracker updated.

Nice to see this over £1.80. Just goes to show how quickly things can change after we were lurking about at £1.68/9. Pleased about the new CEO for the longer term. The £50mil bonus is pretty crazy, but it does show how driven the board are to increasing shareholder value, which seemed to be in doubt on this board. i can see resistance at £1.85, but still think it may hit £1.89 prior to the results. sales growth will undoubtedly be exceptional. I am a tiny bit concerned about what their guidance will be for the next year with all of the Global Macro issues in the near / medium term, but hope it will be optimistic. Not expecting fireworks, but a 5% rise on Wednesday would be welcome for the trend to continue back to £2.00. Will have a very keen eye on the press on the weekend.

So we have a New CEO, Old Mutual topping up, a sizzling hot summer for sales, Online sales growth predicated to break records this peak, Black Friday coming, up, an argument as to why this is more Brexit proof than other shares, and the share price is down from £2.00+? Surely we are near the bottom? Surely this is the entry point for at least a 20% gain in the next few months.

It is crazy though, you can have more than 2% rise on absolutely nothing and then a bit of good news and nothing. Bit frustrated today lol but I have to remember why I am invested and to be patient.

Fantastic news.! An experienced hand dedicated to share price growth. Very surprised this has only moved a couple of %. The markets are very strange at the mo, with Brexit and the Trade Wars. When it cools, peoples appetite for risk will return and here will be a real target for large funds. Also if you looked at the spreads this morning MM's were taking the p*ss. I think this appointment shows the company is maturing and looking to manage its reputation better in the market.
