Its a crude processing furnace capable of running on hydrogen.....if only they had some hydrogen to put into it! although they are in the process of designing a hydrogen production unit and a carbon capture unit, could be a few years off, the furnace will be running on natural gas and refinery waste............but Hydrogen is the future!!

Stanlow are also looking at replacing there ageing power station and 6 train boiler house with a new CHP plant, guess what.....also hydrogen compatible.
The furnace is for Crude Distillation Plant.
They are also heavily involved with a hydrogen network that will run right pass Protos, only hiccup is CF fertilisers closing down.

Thanks for the link, I remember reading that now, it's 15 months construction phase, not 15 months to operation.
Does anyone know if all of theses units are identical or do they have to be engineered and deigned individually?

Horult, really hope you are right and they are developed in tandem, it would reassure the market that Peel is 100% committed to building multiple units. The RNS did clearly state Rothesay would be second and the planning permission is an early step in the process, where did you pick up the 15 months?

Why don't Peel just focus on Rothesay.....make that the FOAK, it lacks the complexity of the Protos facility....there must be a market for the Hydrogen there, or why build it at all?
