Looking at this link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Traffic_in_Arms_Regulations#Overview it is possible that HARL may want to purchase equipment from a US supplier and that is the reason for the vacancy. But it could also be that there is a major contract being tendered for.

Looking at the intraday chart the share price jumped at 14.41 which was just before Chrisatrdg posted the information. Just a coincidence I am sure.

Pleased to welcome SNP Transport Spokesperson, Gavin Newlands MP, and Glenrothes MP, Peter Grant, to Harland & Wolff (Methil) today.

We spoke about the recent completion of the first Cory barge (the first vessel built here since 1856!) the Clean Maritime Plan, our SOWEC applications, and forthcoming Contracts for Difference consultation on non-price factors.

What was clear is that a thriving Methil yard can be a fantastic foundation for the area's economic future and there is huge support to see that happen.

If the Northern Ireland High Court follows the same practice as the England and Wales High Court then a draft of the judgement will be circulated under embargo. I am not sure that JW will see a copy. It will go to the lawyers for the parties. As far HARL is concerned it can only go to those who need to know in order to handle the response to the judgement.

BeanCounting ref 07.44 post You are taking that comment out of context. If I recall without looking up the comment you was in the section relating to debt not equity finance. The current share price would in my opinion not sustain the amount of money needed for capital. This is a view that I believe the BoD agrees with as they have for a round the last year or so been using debt finance instead of equity finance when raising finance. I am inclined to think that an equity raise is some time off as the share price would need to increase significantly for that to be done.

Broomtree ref 22.07 post I have noticed that for the last six months or so on occasion one of the superfast vessels has been coming in for a short spell sometimes a few hours. Last time I think it was for a few days. I have wondered why do they not bite the bullet and just put it in for a full overhaul.
