Does not sound to me like the MoD wiill be changing its mind.

In the RNS it says 'On the basis of these discussions, the proposed debt financing is now expected to close in Q1 2023. Financial close is contingent upon completion of due diligence and credit committee approvals of Astra and UKEF respectively. The Company will provide further updates in due course.' I also observe that most of the undershoot in the revenues guidance is caused by deferment of income into Q1 2023 so it is not clear why funding is needed to cover this unless and until the deferment changes to a cancelation.

The question for everyone holding shares is why did you buy the shares. If you bought to trade fine. However if you bought it to invest then today's shock should be irrelevant. The fundamentals have not changed since yesterday. HARL remains as I said yesterday not going to reach significant revenues on the three main income streams until 2026/27. If you think you are going to get a quick profit from HARL you are in the wrong share. As I also said yesterday 2023 will be a preparation year with the real income coming in 26/27

There are significant concerns arising from this update. The cancellation of the Siapem contract means that there is now no track record in fabricating the jackets for offshore wind turbines. This has the knock on effect that it may be a challenge to win contracts for offshore wind projects. This would possibly be balanced by contracts for floating wind farms.

The deferment of revenues on the M55 contract is not a grave concern but the absence of any reference to HMS Athelstone raises concern over how that is progressing. The last update on the HMS Athelstone said that two projects were under consideration it would have been helpful if something was said about how this is going. A quick adding up to the negatives in the update shows that but for these events HARL would have met the guidance.

The news with regards to debt financing is good and in my view pushes any need for a placing down the road. I note the reference to UKEF and await news on the contracts that require financing through the UKEF. Hopefully 2023 willm be better.

Nobby31 re 20.03 post I agree that especially in renewables which is rarely mentioned on this board there is likely to be a lot of work. Also JW has mentioned the cruise and ferry market and the refurbishing of cruises I wonder if we will actually see some significant contracts in this area. I suspect that one of the reasons that Sir Jonathan was bought on the board was to help with getting contracts in the cruise markets. JW also said that he thinks that HARL will become a £500m revenue within five years. On the basis of the currently three most likely highest revenue income streams I would agree with this. However the FSS contract will conclude in 2032 so something to take its place would be needed. While this might be the maintenance contract for the three FSS ships it is not guaranteed that HARL will get the maintenance contract.
