I have just noticed that HARL Comms have not posted anything on the HARL twitter feed since Christmas Day. The LinkedIn page has only had Christmas Wishes posted last week. I cannot remember these media blackouts are they normally followed by an RNS? I know we have had these blackouts in the past.

I think this announcement rather than the formal notice that the contract has been signed that will move the SP. As from this announcement everyone will know the amount that HARL will receive from the contract and therefore what the annual revenues will be.

MaryBr190 ref 10.41 post I would observe that it there is an incoming RNS it may not relate to the FSS contract or the debt facility. HARL has a habit of issuing an RNS about something coming out of left field. Also these chunky buys do not mean that there will be an RNS in the morning.

Just seen this https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-64211744. No indication of the amount of the discount for heavy energy users. This looks like it could be an additional pressure on HARL.

Trendz 12.19 post I think it is not a case of the market not valuing future revenues it is that the future revenues are unclear. While the overrall conract value is known the actual amount that HARL will get is not. When it is said that HARL will get at least 50% of the work it is not clear if this is 50% by value or 50% by amount of work. We know from parliamentary answers that HARL will do the front and mid sections and the integration of the ships but is this where the majority of the work is. My view is that for political reasons it will be 50% by value.

Once we have details of how the work is being shared out and the split on the contract revenue we should see the long awaited correction in the share price.

LSE03 ref 19.03 post I recall as stated in the article that JW has said they will use British Steel whereever possible. It would be interesting to know where BAB and BAe source there steel. I do not think that 100% of the steel to be used on the FSS contract will be from the UK but it will be as high as possible.

Kaeren ref 15.49 post the difference between Consuela and TeleTim65 is that as far as I can see Consuela's post are within the rules. I agree that all different views should be accomodated up to a point when you start resorting to playing the man and not the ball and do so in an offensive and harrassing way then something should be done or you risk driving the more moderate views away. While there is the option, that I have availed myself of, of filtering an individual poster it is only effective in my view if the majority of posters do it.

Xenor ref 13.27 post I do not see any issue if it takes until May to sign the contract as the MoD has taken longer than normal throughout this process. As it is the MoD and needs both Ministerial and Treasury approval six months is not in my view an unduly long time.

While an announcement of some sort is possible this week the end date by which the contracts should be signed is May of this year so I would not be unnecessarily concerned with the when in relation to the signing of the contract. Although I suspect that if nothing is said by the time of the next Defence Questions the Shadow Defence Secretary might ask questions.

Gilbosconi ref 18.21 post I would observe that HARL has two businesses in Northern Ireland. I am not sure which is of the greater strategic importance to thee UK.

Xenor ref 11.28 post I see you have greater faith in the competence of the MoD than me. I think the prudent thing to do is to have May 23 as the longstop date for when the contract will be signed. Doing that means if it is done earlier we get a surprise. May does mean that we possibly get news on IM JR and FSS in the same month.
