After a quiet few weeks we have three vessels due into Belfast in two days Stella Embla is on a day visit today. Also the Excalibur is berthing in D1C later today length of stay to be confirmed. I have just read this interesting article from Navy Lookout https://www.navylookout.com/the-type-32-frigate-frigate-programme-over-before-it-began/. While it is about the Type 32 and whether it will see the light of day there is a nice infographic that shows all the different types of vessels being built over the next 10 years or so. Frigates aside there seems to be a number of opportunities for HARL.

HarChris ref 10.47 post the concern I have is that HARL does not always publicise contract wins so the market might get a misleading impression of the number and value of contract wins. This is compounded by the fact that when contract wins are publicised there is a tendency to not mention the value of contracts.

The three Fleet Solid Support ships will be assembled from 21 blocks. Fourteen of the blocks, comprising the mid and forward sections of all three ships, will be built by Harland & Wolff in the UK. Seven aft blocks of the Fleet Solid Support (FSS) ships will be built by Navantia in Cadiz. Following arrival of the aft blocks from Spain, the final outfitting, integration of blocks and modules and fitting of sensitive systems, as well as all testing and commissioning will take place in the UK.

The involvement of a world-class shipbuilder allows for technology and skills transfer into the UK, and UK capability and employment to sustainably step up to deliver the contract.'

While we await broker forecasts for FY 23 I am confident that the original guidance will be met. The original guidance for FY 23 was for £100m -£115m. From various statements I believe the situation is as follows with regards to income all figures are in millions.

I know that the total capital investment from the FSS contract is £77m but I have spread it over two years. In addition there may be other works connected to the FSS contract othe rthan the improvement works.
