Everyone wants peace but Trump's alleged position could extract too high a cost for Ukraine and the EU... which, in turn, could elongate the negotiations and the war. We're already seeing the Gaza ceasefire falling apart and it looks as if Trump's position is being dismissed.

For the last couple of weeks the sp has sat comfortably above the level needed to get a fundraise away - sp is 25% up on the month. Some were quick to say that AP would jump immediately at the opportunity to raise more funds and have suggested another dilution was imminent. Doesn't appear that a fundraise has been as imminent as some have suggested so what's going on behind the scenes?

Is the long-awaited re-financing deal about to get over the line?

Is BP now generating more revenue?

Are the Taj projects now producing a decent amount?

Is Hanes producing the goods?

Has the return of the diamonds been unblocked?

We've seen Jones increase his holding (and has possibly been adding more this week). Volumes have been healthy and sp peaked at around 0.18 last week.

Interesting times?

Jones could still be hoovering up sells... and who knows what his ultimate goal is?

If the reference to BS isn't a criticism of management, I don't know what it is,,, happen to think that no-one would disagree with you, though.

I'm hoping that AP can redeem himself to some extent - can understand why patience is being seriously tested. I'm holding and tried to add on the dip this morning.

With the Market Cap still being so small, I reckon that one piece of good news will send the sp further north.

Poor show from HL this morning - just spent the last half hour trying to buy!

SP has been bubbling away with a wee recovery last week only to fall back. I reckon Jones is still buying but I'm expecting bigger news about the future. Speculation on a lot of fronts - BP production has been sorted, Hanes production better than expected, diamonds on their way, Zim diamond mine to be re-started, long term finance sorted, BP being sold, bigger Taj projects being awarded, etc, etc.

As I've said before, I reckon AP is doing the stuff that I'd expect him to be doing given the hole that he dug for himself. I'm expecting to hear some better news soon and for the sp to continue its recovery.

I'm finding it difficult to buy online!

One would hope that this half will look quite different to the last reported half - costs now appear to be under control and some of the expected revenue that didn't arrive in the last half should be coming through in this half... if AP has got BP sorted! There was a court hearing in November and, I expect at that point, the court was aware of the last half's performance. Clearly, it was necessary for a (short-term?) gap to be plugged in January.

As always, one big question is whether BP is washing its face, making a profit or still making a loss and whether the other projects are actually delivering revenue. We might get some clues if AP publishes a production update.

The other big question is what on earth is happening about long term funding - the last 6-9 months, I believe has been about proving VAST will make money. Has AP done enough to get that over the line? Some will disagree but I took AP's interest free loan as a sign that he's close.

As for the diamonds, well... is the increased speculation founded on some progress being made? Our Mr Jones might well think so!

H2 figures will look a lot different and, remember, BP is still under court supervision which I think is a positive for shareholders. Last court hearing was 14/11/24 (after the H1 end) and there were no issues reported by the Judicial Administrator.

I appreciate there are a load of doomsters on here but, come on, if today's update is news to anyone then they've clearly not taken any time to research VAST. It's been a basket case for years and if I had a pound for every doomster that predicted the imminent demise of VAST, I'd be a rich man!

Still less than £3m market cap... this still has the potential to fly at very short order.

Feels like AP has cost/expenditure under control and might reduce again given all the changes now implemented at BP. Revenue for the current half may well turn out to be a surprise given the carry forward of unsold product from the last half plus the much-anticipated income from Taj... we need to see the hard cash though!

Seems to me that VAST is now becoming a company that new lenders can invest in with more confidence. No-one risks half a million of their cash unless they know that it's safe.

Given the dire situation - not as bad as expected.

The loan is repayable when they have the final funding solution in place and if it is affordable... that's nowhere near a fundraise to specifically repay AP's loan! And there is certainly no evidence that the loan was given 'to get the share price to a level where a share placing would be possible.'

The wording of the RNS doesn't allow for a fundraise to repay AP. It points to a full solution on funding which suggests to me that it's coming soon and that the loan was only required short term.

'Vast Resources plc, the AIM-listed mining company, is pleased to announce that, whilst continuing to finalise its various funding options as previously announced, the Company has accepted an interest free, unsecured loan of €500,000 from its Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Prelea, repayable when the Company finalises funding and can afford to do so. '

As I've said before, I believe that AP is doing all the right things to turn this around. If we get a positive update on BP and other projects then it's good to go!

I see where you're coming from but having a mining licence and operating a mine are two different things (as we are all experiencing here!!). I'm not actually advocating that Canmax stump up 30 million either.

Interesting thoughts Martinigirl - I don't think that Canmax are really that bothered about owning Zulu. I happen to believe what others have said about them just wanting the sc6 and I'm not convinced that they'll want to spend millions more taking 100%. If we get to 1st April without any improvement, yes, they'll assume their 55% or whatever but GR isn't going to get to sell Zulu - he'll be gone soon and it's out of his hands. I think Canmax will put in place someone capable from their own workforce so that the work to get it to production is done. After all, the test run and other developments don't need GR. They may or may not provide the funding needed but, once GR is gone, we'll see the sp soar and other funding will become easier.

What on earth is going on? Storm blowing a hooly south of Edinburgh this morning. GR gets some pocket money... sp disaster. QED sp almost halved due to a fundraise - dilution is only 10% of shares.

Praying that the roof stays on. GR now beyond help. QED should recover nicely.

Poor price. Poor amount. Desperate. Really not clear what this is going to achieve.

Chairman needs to step in immediately and get rid of him. I'd be worrying that he'll write a cheque to himself for £570K for his loan.

I have wondered that as well, dilara. Whether or not, he has some confidence that VAST will be worth a lot more than he has paid to date. Someone investing that much doesn't take this kind of risk for a 5% or 10% return. IMHO, Jones is expecting this to multibag at some stage... as do I.

With the slight retracement, Mr Jones will be happily hoovering up the sells again. AP has just lent a load to VAST at zero interest and isn't going to get repaid until the funding situation is resolved... suggests to me that it will be resolved soon which should boost the sp.
