The results had a breakout of Clarigene and covid lab revenue for FY21.
Twix - I know they haven’t reiterated £25m yet, but I expect this will come from the analyst briefing ( 9am today?) and on the conference call for us tomorrow!
Let’s face it, how many times over the last 5 or so years have they actually made circa 25% of the annual target in Q1? I suspect never, it’s normally heavily loaded on Q2!
As expected, last year was a bit of a write off with extra spending on increasing lab capacity and clearing the decks with some write downs.
The bit I wanted to see was there - over £6m Rev in Q1 (to end jun - before travel has really got going) looks like we are on for a good year given that the £25m target is not all loaded on H2 (and hope!) as it often appears to be. There was also mention of increased test kit inventories so it looks like we’re in a good place to keep Boots and others stocked up.
The headlines will look bad with the FY21 loss but it looks like we’re set for a much better year!
I’m with you there bakky - I want to know, but it’s bloody nerve racking!
Have a good evening - see you all at 7am!
Bakky, you may be right on that, but if we are shifting a lot of kits that aren’t subsequently processed in our labs, maybe they will call that out because I would guess it’s more scalable than the processing side!
Yep, I’d expect at least the overall covid revenue for the year end and would like to see a breakdown into Clarigene sales and lab revenue for that period.
To be fair, they were giving some numbers around Sept / Oct last year for tests and loosely revenue from covid testing but the subsequent lockdown(s) trashed the revenue and no doubt their motivation to talk about the numbers. IIRC, we heard around the start of the year that we were only processing about 1/4 of our capacity.
Anyway, let’s hope we’re now running at a decent rate for kit sales and that the labs are busy! Not long ‘til we find out!
I expect we will get numbers for this year so far, split into Clarigene kit sales, coivd lab processing and core business. I'd like to see a regional breakdown for the core business so we can understand how covid is impacting core business. I also expect them to call out any highlights, for example whether DPYD is still growing like a weed.
However, I do not expect them to give away every price point in a competitive market - there's a balance between keeping shareholders informed and telling all of your customers how much the other customers are paying!
Clearly, we'd all like to see knockout numbers, but I'd be happy with numbers that indicate £25m FY will be hit with confidence.
GL .. I’ll be pleased if your predictions are right!
I set my expectations a bit lower for last year - assuming a bit more cash got burnt building capacity, but that’s history already and I’m not going to stress about It.
What matters to me is the trading update and whether the £25m target looks to be genuinely achievable this year…
Only a couple of days to wait now!
Bog week? - Hopefully that’s not an early indication of the trading statement!
What’s the error / false statement?
If we pick up the DPYD for England, based on the same terms and proportional to the population of Wales, it's worth £4m ...
When we’ve had sell-offs in previous years, the trade sizes did get larger / huge as they finished up, sometimes with some multi-million trades. I’d actually be relieved to see some of those bigger trades, just to get it over and done with!
Twix, if we get a 25M US contract, I don’t think it will matter if it doesn’t start ‘til 2022, the SP will re-rate knowing a number like that is coming ...
ps. Twix & ColSol, that was a rhetorical question before you start hammering your keyboards to death!
That's all we need, the 100k seller has been replaced by a pesky 269,176 buyer! What will people have to moan about if that keeps up?!
Thanks Hemo - it will be interesting if you get anything from Walbrook. Someone previously mentioned it’s possible to request a viewing of the register from Ygen but I’m nowhere near Manchester so haven’t bothered!
Good to see us getting our foot in the door in the US .. well done YGEN!
Don’t worry, last years figures will be bad so we can rise on the back of those instead ;-)
I’m sure someone predicted 50 by Christmas ;-)
bakky, good point, I don't remember them confirming that they had made that many!
But they probably had made 50 by Christmas ;-)
