Essentially it's an AIM quirk. The RNS means a TR1 wasn't needed at the time. Yet it's the TR1 that provides the actual details of who actually owns the shares, and where. ie, SM himself might not own all the shares in his own name, could be in trust, companies etc He could transfer them as he see's fit. Hence without the initial TR1, RGM can't do anything.

Thinking about this more..... SM didn't issue a TR1 when the deal was done, he didn't need to either cos the details were RNS'd Now, without a TR1, RGM don't know where SM holds his shares, in certified form or nominees. So RGM therefore cannot show how his shares are held. Take Frank Walmsley & family for example. His TR1 split how the shares are held between parties and nominee accounts. So in fact, SM's shareholding might be visible but in one of the nominee's.

To add... I don't think SM was ever on the list either

I will interject at this stage.... The shareholder list hasn't been entirely accurate. I've been over 3% for ages, then 4% twice and I don't show on the list. Yet my holdings are within Share Nominees account.

Think about it a moment. It's no coincidence that MTR long term holders are posting here. As MTR holders, most of us will also buy stock in the companies that MTR invest in. Just like AAU, EUA, Kibo. It's completely natural for us to hold stock in OSU. When MTR take a notifiable position in a company, it's for a reason, a reason being they believe in the companies fundamentals, and not a quick flip. See whether MTR sell their 5.5m in the next day or so, or whether they'll hold for the real returns later on.

Must be a shorter who wrote that top bit. I know none of that relates to the issue here, but in general... burn em!

That too Luther. OSU has lots of cash and an asset sale pending. NEW had fak all cash, and dusty holes. The short squeeze is what makes the comparison, other than that, OSU is streets ahead and regardless of the squeeze, OSU have NAV way over current SP

Cos NEW was caused by forward selling of a failed placing. That's not the case in OSU. This is caused by a mismatch between trading on the TSX and LSE The MM's will need to balance the books

He's the leader of the New World Oil Action Group also. They hold 15% of the company there and are trying to overthrow the BoD of NEW

Completely different set of circumstances. NEW was forward selling of placing shares that needed an EGM to vote them through. Vote failed No placing Those forward selling created their own short squeeze Big boom as shorts closed Big drop after a new open offer was announced. OSU is different No placing No PI's forward selling It's a mismatch between the TSX and LSE markets. No skulldggery on anyones part, just an opportunity to ride a wave. And besides, OSU's fundamentals are great regardless of this event. Cash and potential sale is 7p ish?

In the example of NEW, it dropped dramatically back down because the BoD there announced a nonsense open offer to help their placing investors to get out of jail. OSU example, if this is a short squeeze is different to NEW. Assuming the short squeeze is real, those share will need to be bought back by the mm's to balance the books. The NEW PoS board simply created a load of new shares to fill the gap, but OSU are already cash rich, which negates the need for cash obviously.

It's been emotional. Hopefully today we'll see a deal done
