Either that or sell.
Disappointing for long term holders particularly, now we're getting to the business end of things.
The big money want a piece of the pie for sure, but only at silly prices.
I'm just going to ride it out as it's a far more viable proposition now than when I originally bought in more than a decade ago. I'm having to re-imagine £1+ per share for surr. Bugger!
Mine too!
There will be no royalty - GGP, Wyloo will not countenance that.
With Wyloo support and bank funding already agreed it will be 100% (if Newmont go for it), or nothing.
I still think the deal has been done in principle - we.re just waiting now for the rubber stamp. Roll on the next Newmont quarterly - we may get news or an inclination then.
In the meantime, drilling plans for 24 would be most welcome
Into the bin with you, you scoundrel.
I might quietly let you out again if you behave but if you don't behave I shall jolly well put you back there and, what's more, I shall tell everyone that you're back there, so there.
And, and, . . . and, I'll damn well tell everyone else that hasn't put you in the bally bin, to put you there as well. There, how do like that?
Ha!! Thought so.
Blighters
Who is this Freddie person and why do people keep replying to it?
I don't understand. The whole point of their existence is to elicit responses and yet we have respected posters playing their game. It's just weird.
Pop in once in a while in case their is some news. but otherwise, just wait.
It's all going to be ours.
3 years of pain, 3 months ish and we're back on an upward curve
Once again the board have demonstrated that they will avoid dilution of existing shareholders wherever possible.
It's been a consistent theme since day 1 and long may it continue.
Yep - everyone would love a decent return now but they're playing the long game - either suck it up or invest elsewhere.
I hope we keep Songwe and every other tenement but things change - if we can't get a deal that's beneficial then, regretfully, move on. The recycling is going to ne a monster in time
Hedge funds blah blah
Short selling petitions (how many times does that come up?)
Charts?? Dear God
All this stuff is just distraction & muppetry of the highest order and if you get sucked in and respond, well sorry, but you become part of the problem.
We're going mining - we'll probably, possibly, maybe, own 100% + Telfer. And when that happens you can tell your Grandchildren you were in at the start.
In the meantime - Gold Cup tomorrow
Monkfish, L'Homme Presse, Galopin Des Champs in that order.
It's as random as anything that's been posted here today.
Best regards to the silent majority x
Great work as always Bamps, but, please please please stop feeding them by replying directly.
I can't be the only one on here that filters the aerosols on day one of posting. They're so easy to spot.
Moving on, terrific presentation by SD this week. I've long thought, and said so, that we'd get it all and it seems we're a good deal closer now. More patience required but after the last 3 years or so I think I can manage that.
Keep up the sterling work - It's appreciated by many who never post on here.
I've got a reminder too.
Mkango board have never, ever said anything unless there is something important to say.
They never have been, and there's nothing to suggest they are now, a 'lifestyle' company.
They have never raised to advance other projects on the books, preferring to preserve cash and focus on what's moving now - in this case Songwe and the European (and now US) magnet recycling technology.
They've farmed out, JV'd and accessed grants to progress.
I'm sure the easy option at times would been an equity raise but they've avoided that as far as possible.
This is without doubt a long journey. I first invested when Songwe was just a hill with no holes in it, thinking, like many I suspect, of multiples come the PFS. To be fair the SP rose about 5 fold to around 36p I think and with hindsight, blah blah, blah.
Bottom line is, I trust the management to deliver and all the other noise around MDA and cash position is just fluff.
Keep the faith
Aside from a great result (I hope), the price will depend very much on plans for pilot production and finance for the next stage.
Inpex taking a stake at a premium would be tasty but it may still be too early for that.
There are so many possible scenarios it's mind boggling.
For now, and after all these years, I'd settle for a positive result in around 12 hours time. That'll do for starters
I've said for some time that GGP would get 100% + Telfer and still think that will be the case - I suspect a deal has been done in principle and that they've been working on it for much longer than many would think.
As I said to Redirons (I think), this was just my interpretation and many outcomes are possible.
Part 1 is done as Newmont have confirmed they are divesting Telfer and Havieron.
Part 2 pending but just waiting to be announced in my view.
I would expect a figure of around $500m.
We already have bank funding which SD has confirmed can be scaled up if the 100% option arises. We also have Wyloo as a major investor so I don't see major dilution and certainly not over 100%.
It's a done deal I reckon (usual caveat - I could still be completely wrong).
I also think it will be announced in short order - I certainly hope so as the more fanciful posts are a major distraction.
Keep it simple - look at what's in place, look at our board, look at our major investors.
You know it makes sense.
Best wishes to the long termers in particular but also to the genuine relative newcomers.
40 years of production? What's not to like
No offence taken Redirons - most us are here for the same reason.
I think it was the the last town hall, or maybe the one before, that Shaun was quite clear about what he expected when Newmont took over.
He didn't expect the JV to continue. Now, that might have changed since - I have no idea. But it was clear from his comments then that it was either going to be Newmont 100% or GGP 100%
I think it will be GGP but that's maybe wishful thinking - I'd hate for us to lose it now. Unless Ernest Giles turns out to be a monster.
Best regards
Hi Redirons
Obviously I don't know more than our CEO - just my view.
Shaun did say, with regard to the 3 options, that a continued JV was 3rd on the list.
His view, at that time, was Newmont all, GGP all, JV - in that order
Not re-inventing the wheel here and in no way wishing to offend anyone - it's just my take on things. I could be miles out, but lord knows, everyone else has had a guess during the last 3 years of purgatory so that's mine.
Doesn't make me a wrong 'un like young Mucus
Agree with Chisler
Newmont committed to £2B of savings
Telfer / Hav is the most obvious quick win for them
Telfer a drag on AISC plus restitution costs off the books if they sell
Hav not producing yet so it's an easy sell to their institutional investors who will want to see material progress on costs
Job adverts are nice to see but it will always be business as usual until sale confirmed
I'm thinking sale to GGP confirmed later this month but maybe that's the drugs / alcohol talking!
Lots to look forward to
This whole 'size of flare' thing is getting out of hand.
Ooh, slightly damp today so that'll diffuse the light so multiply by 2.3856
Bit of cloud cover so divide by 0.56 but allow for the moisture in the the atmosphere so do the Pi squared thing
Bloody nonsense.
It's flaring and we'll get the results at the end of the month.
Can any LTH;s honestly say, after a decade plus, that they would think about selling now, because the cloud cover is slightly iffy and the flare looks a bit smaller than it should??
Nope, thought not.
Chill out my most respected fellow investors - our time is nigh. Just a little bit more patience and it'll all kick off
Nice that it seems we're finally underway but agree with BtB re TBN, particularly Riddle.
The guy is an uber bull on everything so I would take any comments he makes with a pinch of salt.
Having said that, maybe this time it is going to be good - who knows?
Yet another month and maybe.......
It's quite exhausting
Newtofo - the thing is, we have no idea. Whilst speculation can be interesting / fun , we're ultimately at the mercy of an RNA that says 'Yeehaa' or 'Getthefeckinthere' or something similar.
After all this time I'm still a believer - too many interested parties now to believe this is dead in the water.
Keep the faith and wait for the red dot we've all been waiting so long for.
Best regards
