Ready to admit you lied about the UK's GDP under Thatcher? Ready to admit her track record on GDP is one of decline? Surely someone with a maths degree can interpret some simple stats?

As with every other time I've successfully called you out, you desperately try to move the conversation on to some 'anti-woke', culture war sensationalism, because you can't respond to calm, evidenced reason.

So stop talking about nail polish and tell us what happened to the UK's GDP position during Thatcher's time as PM.

Most, slug included, haven't stopped to judiciously reflect on her economic record of decimating industry here in the UK. And then they post rubbish about GDP improving relative to other countries under Thatcher, which we can at least agree I have now put to bed.

Slug, these little anecdotes are charming, but the data clearly shows that the UK's position in a list of countries by GDP dropped during Thatcher's time in office as PM. You chose the metric as a means to highlight her economic stewardship. You got caught lying, and your 'loadsa money' stories can't change that. Please, look again at the simple data I've posted to prove you wrong. If there's any part of it you don't understand, just ask. We went down under Thatcher. That's the point. You claimed we rose to third. The data shows we dropped. What's happened since isn't part of the stupidity of yours that I'm exposing. You said the proof of the pudding was our GDP success.

And the fact that we dropped down the international GDP standings throughout her time in office is.... Inconsequential? It's that one quarter that matters?! And the rest is to be ignored.

Here's the annual breakdown. Find the year during Thatcher's time as PM where the UK is 3rd. Clue: you won't.

Not going to clutter up this board schooling slug any further - he is resistant to facts. Thatcher was PM throughout the 1980s. Labour came to power in '97 and remained there until 2010. Have a look at the UK's comparative GDP (slugs choice of metric, not mine) in that time and work out who is right: me or slug?

There's a nice simple Wikipedia entry about historical gdp comparison, so it isn't difficult to see that slug is as misguided and blinkered as ever. Compare our position in the 80s/early 90s to late 90s/early 00s. Comparing international economies isn't as simple as he is, obviously, but he chose the metric for comparison...
