Anybody would think the FT had an interest in Sirius failing they seem hugely critical of this project which I have not seen to such an extent with other papers. However they are correct that the Qatar sov wealth fund owns a decent chunk of equity but personally that makes me feel a lot better…..if someone has billions and does not want something to fail then its far better than Joe blogs with a few quid not wanting it to fail

I guess to the Qataris 3bn is easily available if there is an investment that will produce a massive return over a long period of time easier at the moment then drilling for oil and maybe more demand for poly than oil in the future...pity the uk govt are so short sighted when all they are doing is giving a gtee to a project that will help there new free port :)

As an expat living in spain I have to say that the mindset in the uk seems to have changed a lot since the 15 years I came to spain (I now run a succesful business I should add), but it seems there is a high level of intolerance (or should I say racism ) even against eu citizens who have done a great job working in the uk. I know a number of spanish who have returned to spain due to this farce that s going on in the uk (Brexit)…. I also think there is a strange feeling in the uk that people who have left to work in europe are some kind of traitor even if they have paid into the uk system for many years before leaving and those with uk assets probably still paying. In reality all brexit is doing is giving these people credence and ruining the future for their children to travel and work across europe freely As for Boris his only interest is the top job he really does not care what he needs to say or do to get there….imho

Any reason for the 12% rise today?? Anybody on here :)
