RE: UAE Minister of Energy G. DAMDINNYAM AGREES WITH CHINA NATIONAL OIL CORPORATION TO ESTABLISH LONG-TERM AGREEMENT TO INCREASE FUEL SUPPL16 Jan 2026 08:59
Thanks Gadgie, much appreciated. I'm currently in northern Laos on a SE Asia holiday. Just travelled on new railway from Vientiane, built by Chinese. The scale of Chinese influence here is truly remarkable. They are lending vast amounts to Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand to fund new infrastructure and taking raw materials in part payment. Although Mongolia should be reducing any reliance on Russia, increasing its reliance on China is like frying pan into the fire. They need to be independent for oil requirements, hence I hope for an Indian or UAE investor as farm-in partner.
