Our latest Investing Matters Podcast episode with QuotedData's Edward Marten has just been released. Listen here.
Moda @ 07:56,
"u.s.navy suspended exploration activities here
because the giant gwhar Saudia arabia oil field came online"
One does wonder in an oil world, that to drill and produce oil in SA then ship to the USA to sell at profit, why not drill and produce in Alaska?
Guess not as much profit... Or any?
Brom @16:23
Are 88e required to specifically list ELKO as a contractor on their Cleansing Statements or Form 2A's?
Apart from the All American Oilfield guys, who were these contractors? What roll if any did ELKO play in drilling Merlin? If ELKO were subscribing for shares is it possible that they were also invoicing the company for works?
As always, would appreciate your thoughts on these matters.
Trelawny @08:29,
If you are referring to Erik's ELKO taking shares, pretty sure he has sold them.
Probably over inflated his invoices, which explains the cost blow out of Merlin, to fund his future works at Jade.
Reads like a golden hands shake from Dave.
I'm just guessing...
InvesterInvester @ 13:07
As Brom posted the 1 yr return of 636.36%, is based on the year to date.
So if you go back 1 year from today, until now, a gain of 636.36% has been achieved. The chart shows this.
It's not misleading but individuals need to adjust for their own situation.
Brom @ 13:59
I agree, "to examine a situation or activity again", however your original post was, "pleased to see you have reappraised your previous comments" so to readers it appears as if the olderwiser poster has given their original post a positive change in sentiment.
I'm merely suggesting, possibility not.
It does beg the question, if the 48 side wall cores taken, 30 were discarded, 18 trims were taken, presumably of the best samples. Of them the first 5 have provided 2 with oil shows, 13 remain.
I've modified my thoughts as well. Why would the company release the worst results first?
Brom @ 9:40
With regards the olderwiser post, the way I read it, modified does not equal reappraised. Who's to know that the comment from Reddit is correct in this instance.
I interpret it as "further comment pending" neither postive nor negative at this stage, as much is unknown.
That's just my read however.
Brom,
I agree.
Mr Craig is a wiley old dog and been around the traps for a long time, definitely a player is my view. $20 mill is a large commitment, I'd be confident to state there are deeper pockets than his at play in APDC.
Anyway, they've left the building, next...
Brom @ 09:30
Interesting that APDC chose to form as a Delaware limited liability corporation.
One of the bonuses of this corporate structure is that Delaware doesn’t require the name and address of the members or managers to be listed in the certificate of formation.
Nice read, slightly misleading in the first paragraph.
"...that is a game changer
for the North Slope in terms of saving time and money
and thus making Alaska more affordable"
The shortened program was not completed and was the best part of $8mill over budget.
Jof,
There is already existing "uncertainty on the potential commercialisation of Yukon", it has not been made any better by this decision.
There is uncertainty on the potential commercialisation of all of 88e's projects. To potentially reduce the size of the prize makes a project less commercial.
All good, we all see something different.
Healthy debate is good.
Jof,
I think you are being overly harsh on Scots opinion.
Dave picked up Yukon on a tip from Erik, Erik grabbed his leases sure to his knowledge. Dave grabbed the ANWR lease as a gamble to leverage with Yukon.
Much the same with Peregrine and Umiat, it's all about leverage and holding the leases.
If Yukon holds 90mmbls and ANWR holds the same 90mmbls(hypothetical), is Yukon more is less commercial if ANWR is removed?
chrisev1 @ 10:42
You didn't read my post correctly.
I agreed with you, it depends on when you buy and when you sell.
What I said was, you'll be able to buy them cheaper later in the year.
As with every position that someone claims, someone will be right and someone will be wrong. September is roughly when things are cheapest, I'll come back to you.
All good.
chrisev1 @ 08:35
"In theory that is correct but it depends when you bought them and how much you paid"
Of course.
Nbul1 is often posting of late about top ups, anyone buying now is paying more than they will later in the year and that's a fact.
Check the 5 year chart.
