i am not adding, but nor have i reduced. currently, i am still persuaded by
the demographic arguments which i think are powerful l/term… i think i do
want, & need, a decent % of my portfolio invested in the china [including their
many client states inc. vietnam] as a huge market & emerging [upper]middle
class investors who will want and need the kind of products and services
prudential is actually quite good at structuring and selling. i do have a
reasonably strong stomach for the inevitable zigs and zags of investing in
this volatile crucible, and i remain optimistic m/l term on pru. but i try to
watch carefully as i think if they mis-step & p*** off winnie-t-p & his mates,
there might not be a way back from that, so a nimble exit would be needed.

longer term, pru can’t serve two masters and its future lies in east.

sold about 1/7th of my AV. holding today, but v. happy to let the rest ride.

do you think pru is a sell these days, jatw?

someone bought about seven grand of ADME shares on wednesday, and now
today someone sells those seven grand back. this kind of thing has happened
a few times recently … someone seems to be prepared to take a small loss
each time round of a few pips and dealing costs, in order to create the illusion
that there is still at least a tiny bit of interest in ADME. a truly pathetic share.

bought this morning.

dananzi, “what to do?” - be realistic, you are a pretty small shareholder
in the grand scheme of things, so by all means vote your shares, & write
a heart-felt letter to the CEO if you like, but don’t expect that you will
achieve much by doing so. if you don’t like what they are doing, sell,
if you are happy enough, stick or add. … but be realistic, as you and
your preferences are not about to change policy for a FTSE 100 major.

but i think she’s fairly well regarded as it is. she’s
been making a fairly refreshing change anyway
from the previous load of drock that ran aviva.

i suspect this will turn out to be a bit badly timed, from a short-term
perspective at least [especially if china starts nuking USA ‘cos nancy
fancied dropping in for some noodles], but I’ve increased long-term
AZN holding by circa 10%. onwards & upwards, tally ho, etc. etc.

my own guess is that amit does continue to talk, directly or via proxies,
with certain shareholders. but more specifically, i speculate that he
continues to communicate with those shareholders who he thinks might
still be daft enough to pony up yet more money for the ctag saga. - but
anyone who seems to have wised up (or just run out of money!) would be
dropped like a hot potato. …so it’s probably a dwindling pool of holders
imv that’s still in some kind of touch with amit, but just so long as he has
chances of squeezing a bit more money then why would he stop? - it’s a
bit like having his own personal suckers list to call over & over again. aimho.

- i’d appreciate it if you are willing to comment any further on these.

? why do you think the video is “worrying” if accurate … on the face of it,
it sounds like it’s just the CTAG CEO asking someone to help fund some
additional legal fees, given what that CEO seems to be claiming is good
overall progress … what would you find so worrying about that?

? what makes you think that the video is edited material from
2018, rather than something more recent - i.e. how can you tell?

? why do you think that joe doe is the only shareholder who can still
contact amit? - i appreciate that you are saying you can’t get hold of
him yourself, but surely that doesn’t necessarily mean that some other
shareholders aren’t in some contact with him ( - perhaps particularly any
who *have* been willing to hand over money over the last few years)?

not a ‘winning’ issue from my perspective, just interesting to watch.
