Hi Spoonkey. The gold/silver price is being held down to help the bullion banks reduce their short exposure($450billion ). This will be resolver early in the new year and all pointers are for a much higher price. To take advantage of the coming profit potential the best way is, by far, to invest in GGP. The main reason for holding physical PMs is to protect purchasing power and reduce counterparty risk. Silver brits are a good way to get exposure to this market but entry prices make it a long term hold due to the VAT and high premiums (40% in some cases) Gold brits and sovs are much better shorter term. Avoid bars and any other coins for tax reasons. Regular purchases weekly, monthly or yearly and storing at place of purchase is highly recommended. ATB Speedy

Hi All. What on earth is our gov up to? Are they so intent on driving up inflation to cover their deficit spending that they are Heading the country into a place that will not be a good place to be. For an example of what our gov is doing just look at the price of natural gas. I can purchase gas from the USA for 1 third of the cost of UK gas, but on import have to pay HMRC a massive import duty taking the price up 200%. With the coming removal of red diesel, farming and fishing is being decimated to such an extent that soon we will not be producing enough to feed our country. Our green and pleasant land is being sent to the dogs by the hands of a corrupt and deceitful handful of criminals that have ruined market place price discovery and have hijacked the economy. We are on a slippery slope that will end in massive civil disorder. Surround yourself with good friends and family, you will need them. RIP Sir Amess

Hi All. My Brits stash took a hammering today. The bitcoin market is going mainstream with the USA regulators allowing ETF trading in Bitcoin. This makes trading in that sector very easy but with the added risks of counterparty failure and derivative trading making Bitcoin just another infinite asset. Is this news the reason gold has took a small hit today or is it just the bullion banks taking advantage of the news? Time will tell, but i must admit the physical gold market now has a viable competitor. Maybe a small position in bitcoin would be prudent after the next correction. ATB Speedy

Hi Sanibel, I answered your question earlier and it is all to do with not paying tax on buying and selling. Gold brits/sovs are VAT free and CGT free. All other physical gold will attract CGT. ATB Speedy

Hi Sanibel Brits and sovs do not attract VAT or CGT and are very liquid. All other forms, without exception, of physical gold attract CGT. ATB Speedy

Hi Starbright. 30% of a 20million (may be less may be more) oz find say 6million ozs. Using £700million MC and AISC of $700. All very loose and can be adjusted either way due to FX. As i said it is just an exercise to show the leverage achieved with mining stock. ATB Speedy

Hi Lenz. At the moment i am buying gold 1 oz Brits for about £1360 with no tax on profits. If i buy gold via GGP in an ISA at approx£800/oz there is also no tax to pay. This just goes to show the leverage gained with mining stock (just a bit riskier). ATB Speedy

Hi All. Good night at The Stag last night. Whilst talking to Bamps i asked him to work out with all the know facts, and some estimates how much /oz we are paying for gold by buying into GGP . I have done some back of fag packet calcs and come up with a fig. Assuming 30% of expected find say 6milozs at todays MC £710mil with AISC at $700 we are buying gold at approx $800/oz. Would love to see others calcs. Whats not to like about GGP. ATB Speedy

Hi All. Lots of discussion on present value. Today we are valued at approx 20p for a fraction of the asset (say10%, it may be less). In a years time when more drill results are available and the size of this massive find is established we will see Mickeys £1.44p and probably more. I like to keep things really simple and my £2 guess at price today in 2022 is based on the fact that looking at the, as yet, unreported size of Hav we are priced in today on 10th of the asset, in case you cannot do the math 20p x 10 =£2.
