Hi Gold crazy. JPM have had hundreds of billions of US$s profit from bending the gold market. At the same time have been accumulating the biggest physical gold and silver holding by a private co in history. They laugh in the face of the regulators and have cost the gold industry hundreds of billions of $ in lost profits. They need bringing down. I hope the lawyers acting for the gold producers start a class action against them and the other big 3 that run the LBMA and comex. My vote goes to any politician that advocates "breaking up the big banks". but he will probably get assassinated before getting into office. Hi Freddie. Now all we need is a class action case against JPM from the gold /silver industry for compensation for loss of profits due to JPMs criminal activities. If JPM had not suppressed the price gold miners would have hundreds of billions of $s more in profits and gold investors would not be scratching their heads wondering why the POG does not reflect past and present market conditions. Hi All. JPM et al rule the world. They are so massive their talons tear into the worlds market place at will. They run the regulators and pay a pittance in fines compared to illegal profits. If you invest in the market place and do not understand this you are in the wrong game. There is a saying "do not fight the FED" this also goes for JPM. ATB Speedy

Hi All. This is just my take on the present state of play using all my years of trying to stay afloat while JPM stamp all over the markets.
JPM et al go short knowing that if a certain price is hit GDXJ will re balance and sell a shed load of GGP stock regardless of losses. JPM et al purchase all the stock from the fund at a silly low price and cover some of their shorts. The custodians of GDXJ are good pals with JPM and PIs continue to pay the price. This may seem far fetched but i have been watching the performance of JPM for many years and this is probably very near the truth. Fear not fellow GGPers as all manipulated markets always revert to true value and our true value is yet to be realized. ATB Speedy

Hi All. The FED raised interest rates yesterday by 0.75% and today the BOE raised interest rates by 0.25% This is meant to be bad for the POG yet it held and today has added $35/oz. The stupid economists say a rising interest rate will send gold crashing but in reality that will not happen until rates go positive (15% or more) that will never happen with the worlds debt at these levels. Imagine the UK paying more in interest than it gets in taxes, we go broke (we are anyway but that is another story). Rising rate swill see a massive sell of in stocks of highly indebted Cos, where will all that money go to? ATB Speedy

The correction in equities is happening, the correction in bitcoin is happening, the correction in the Residential rental market is happening, the correction in the commercial property market is happening. The rush into the doomed $ is a bad move. The markets are telling us something. The days of free (almost) money is gone. The central banks will have to raise rates into the teens to quench inflation and that will not ever ever happen. When the stupid economists wake up and smell the coffee it will be too late. Hi Lebugue. Wait until the POG settles above $2500/oz and see what happens to the profit margin. A massive leveraged play on the POG . Admittedly inflation will see higher costs but it is the price suppression in the paper markets coming to an end that will see real profits. ATB Speedy

Hi Monty. This debate is as important as it gets and i thank you for offering a view that i do not agree with. Most of the worlds govs are spending more than they receive, where does that currency come from. The USA and UK debt will never be repaid and inflating it away is the only option and that will cost us all dear. ATB Speedy

Hi Trytosmile. For smallish purchases( £25k) i would use Atkinsons. Gold Britannias are my coin of choice, relatively small premiums and very liquid anywhere in the world. Brits are VAT and CGT free. For larger buys(£100k) i recommend MAM Matterhorn asset management, based in Switzerland and very safe. When buying make sure you store your gold at place of purchase, in an insured vault, the costs are negligible. Do not forget silver Brits these can be purchased CGT and VAT free if stored in a bonded store. ATB Speedy

Hi SAS. Willem talks a lot of sense, Most of his thoughts echo mine. A hurricane in the financial markets is unfolding and the banks do not want their currencies exposed by a higher POG. His personal holdings is distributed 25% physical metals. personally i would increase that ratio. There will be a mad rush into real assets when equity investors realize that buying the dip is a bad move. Physical Gold/Silver and their producers will see huge increases in demand. ATB Speedy

Hi Monty. Many thanks for the explanation and breakdown on treasuries. That explanation works if you trust the USA to honor the debt. Gold will act exactly the same sitting as an asset on the books of a bank (100% allocation). The bank can keep hold of its gold and borrow $s against it. With no risk of the USA defaulting on it obligation with treasuries.
The FED produces bank reserves from thin air and it is treated as an asset to swap for treasuries. The swapper then has those $s to spend, is that not the same as "printing" $s?
