1. respect others, it is the minimum you could do. Maybe you are the one who should be banned from participating in open BBs. Again, you don't liking some opinions doesn't make them invalid, when it is about a speculation like this.
2. The initial news was that the sale was approved by some kind of public body, it didn't say there was an ongoing negotiation, but the actual authorisation, so in the end of the sale process rather than in the beginning:

Regarding the application you found to connect to the northern gathering line, it is surprising they don't include it. Also, there isn't a single word on the works in process to put the gas processing plant in operational state. Too many slides on Williston, and zero about the goal of State 36-3 LN-C9 well, even a timeline for that well as well, we only know that State 36-2 LNW-CC is expected to be producing at some point next Q1.

Regarding Serica, their production is ~85% gas, and balancing it with oil would make sense to reduce the exposure to commodity markets volatility. Oil and gas prices are less correlated than they were 5 years ago. Also they are expending a minimum of £45 million in North Eigg with a 30-40% CoS, aiming at 60mmboe of P50 resources. If the bought the Pilot field (or the whole Orcadian), their geological risk will dramatically lower, giving them immediate access to reserves with an approved concept design and advanced FDP, which would allow them to start replying capex in less than 6 months. However, they are dependant on the result of the North Eigg drill, and that's it, there are no more additional assets to develop.
To me, it is very logical that a company like Serica tries to acquire Orcadian, as a straightforward way of reducing the tax rate in a short span of time and ensure their ability to continue replacing reserves with a series of prospects.

Ithaca is already using polymer flooding in the Captain field. Dana Petrolum is also a partner in that field and has greenfield projects in the UK like Tolmount. BP is implementing polymer flooding in its Schiehallion and Loyal fields (both greenfields). Equinor developed the Mariner heavy oil field (where Ithaca owns 95) eyeing polymer flooding as well.

If they had been officially granted those 3000 bbld in Yemen, we would have know by now via a RNS, don't you think?
