I still can't get my head around why people at the BoE always thought lower interest rates were a good idea? There is absolutely no critical thinking behind that analysis at all.
There's a simple answer: Governments can continue to run huge deficits while paying back low interest Gilt payments. Meanwhile, the merry-go-round of cheap interest on mortgages will continue to keep the economy running. Mortgage borrowers have never had it so easy. The chickens are coming home to roost. Let's see how the elephant in the room plays out over the next 18 months.
Inflating away debt is the only card policy makers have to play. Remember how much houses cost in 1970 compared to 1980?
Falkland,
Strong support above 40p at the moment. Good data from Lloyds RNS is the best we can hope for at present. IMO things can only get better over the next few months. Opening up the economy before middle of this year and loosening restrictions on banks will propel us to new levels. Looking forward to an agreement on finance with memorandum before the summer. A lot of issues to resolve, but looking solid at the moment. This time next year and we will be looking at some decent dividend yield from this price. Nothing is certain, but I am confident things can only pick up over the next 6 months.
Good luck all holders.
As per the revised quarterly schedule, 28 April is scheduled as the next declaration date. This will be subject to conditions. I would be surprised if a dividend is declared. The next financial update may reveal the bank's capital and share holder rewards going forward.
You've been holding for years. Bit of advice...
When the axe starts to fall, you bail out and find a new entry point. The market selloff last year was hardly a short term event. We learn from our mistakes. Some sooner than others... I see a repeat of late 2012 on the horizon. The charts are aligning nicely...
Good luck all. Patience, this will turn around in the next 6-12 months.
Dividends: Looking ahead to 28th April and where the next leg up takes us. There's only one way this nag's going over the next few months. Slowly building a nice position. Jumped on board in November. Steady away so far.
Stay positive and good luck to all holders. Patience is the key here.
Buy and hold. Dividends slowly feeding through in 2021. You won't have this opportunity in 2022.
Don't fall for all the doom and gloom.
Got in at 0.31p. Holding long-term and topping up on dips.
70p end of 2021.??

Beware the FTSE correction. I can see a drop to 38-40 any time soon. GLA!
