April 2022 on a visit to White City, standing on the terrace with Fiona, Neil and Alastair and yes for those who don’t believe it you can see one of the Novartis buildings. I was asking why don’t you de-risk trial by taking partner. Neil said then ‘we know what we’ve got (we don’t need anyone else to tell us) and we)re not going to give it away’ If they knew then 2 years more of data can only reconfirm. For once let us hope that Avacta ‘Blow the bloody doors off’ but I suspect it will just be another step forward while we await the big pharma deals that give us the third party validation we crave.
I’ve posted this before and hope it’s relevant. I have been invested a long time and got our LFD scenario (fiasco) completely wrong. I am extremely unhappy about the last few months to put it mildly and without expletives. There may have been partially mitigating circumstances (always need a plan B) but we may never hear the truth on that one. So I go back to April 2022……
Alastair has always said full data release at major conference. He has also said conference needs unpublished data to ensure making an impact. So here we are and here we go. In my opinion Share price completely disconnected. Rns will be after hours tomorrow or Wednesday morning.
I opened interims rns with trepidation and closed with pleasure. It genuinely sounds as though they are on track to deliver strategy. As Muck states lots of positives in there and though my own break even is far off in the distance let’s hope Abingdon can deliver their cash flow positive and break even in 2024 as stated.
Hi
I was wondering why you seem so sure it’s after w/c 4/12. I know Avacta fairly well and they have doubled down that 1a data release will be Q4. I know that PK data has been independently analysed in Switzerland since Q4 2021. So why would they be waiting for more PK data into December 2023? Putting my optimistic hat on the only reason I can think of is that they have decided to include positive data from most or all of DE7. Why do you believe not before w/c 4/12? Which obviously is still Q4
Beinthelead. Not sure why I’m getting involved with this but I suggest you read my post again. In my conclusion I did agree with Ophidian to hold on to your Avacta hat but added you might have to hold till Xmas. As far as I know Xmas is not this week. I, probably like everyone else, hope data release will be a lot sooner
To add a few known unknowns. Rns confirming amongst other things 1a data independent analysis and release was Tuesday 19/9. No great secret that it was expected to take about 2 months. It is 8 weeks tomorrow obviously we don’t know when that study started. Also I believe it is quote ‘out of their hands’ so probably no great help on predicting date other than anytime from now. Whether that’s 1 day, 1 week or 1 month?? Just for the record much as we’d like Tap, Twelves or Banerji to comment I don’t believe they are allowed to comment on ongoing trials. FDA approval for 2 weekly dosing of front line patients must also be fairly imminent. So I agree hold on to your Avacta hat……but it might be till Xmas
Well I doubt you ever met Neil because if you had you would know he was not at the science day due to ill health. Very difficult to dominate if you are not even there. Whereas Dr Tap and Prof Twelves were there and did.
I admit I am surprised by the ‘continued to shrink’ comment as that really is exceptionally positive news. I think it reflects the increasingly confident stance taken by the Avacta scientists. Presumably given the increasing amount of information in the public domain it was not considered material. Very soon we will have the verified data release and be able to see for ourselves the data in detail which is driving their optimism.
Ice cool you are very welcome not to believe me however a condition of the visit was that the notes had to be signed off by Alastair / Fiona before being posted. I have no idea what their motivation for the visit was hopefully just adding to shareholder information. If you were at the AGM then you will know Alastair spent a couple of hours beer in hand (I bought him his second one you’ll probably think it’s bribery and corruption) in the lounge afterwards and I believe quite a few of that group were chatting to him.
