The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Ortex shows the short interest in solg and it seems strategic shorts interest around quiet(news wise) spells help push the price down.
This along with small volume make it easier to manipulate.
Of course I'm reading between the lines regarding BR and wouldn't expect them to make it easy to have a trail back to them being the world's largest fund managers.
Please tell me if I'm reading that wrong as happy to learn.
You answer your own question Quady.
Lack of volume makes it easier to manipulate.
Its nothing to do with wider market(although that has affected us too).
Not sure why your so defensive on this and the idea someone may want to keep the price down on solg.
It doesn't go up as quick as it comes down though does it.
A few months ago there was sustained buying and we all saw this in the form of after hours buys and yet it creeper up.
Last week in 1 day with saw minimal sells wipe out a 20%.
I'm sorry I'm with Fort in this one......blatant manipulation
I think this bb is a small representation of the private investors.
Most people who frequest here are traders....that's my reading of the board.
Yes I can take it or leave it but I wouldn't want someone looking in thinking this share/company has no legs so I choose to challenge certain views when I can.
Ithere is risk here of course but one that could pay handsomely for us all if things align in our favour.
Bozi
My problem is you seem to have appointed yourself to represent the ageing, fatigued investor based on a few conversations with a few investors.
Let's say private investors make up 10-20% of the shareholders, could you see the benefit of Bhp wearing them down?
So my problem is that you are possibly jumping to conclusions about what people might be willing to accept.
That's not too say it doesn't go for 30,40 or 150p but I'm in until the end 1,2 or 10 years.
Bozi, you do have a terrible habit of having a negative slant on things though, don't you?
I'm all for reading views on potential pitfalls of solg bit in the last 8 years I've followed this board we have had a large number of posters who seem to post constant doom.
Tbf your posts are a bit more subtle than your impending doom that some others have been guilty of.
Bozi, that's pure speculation on your part.
I don't think talking to a few investors verifies this either.
I'm not of the older generation and Im certainly not in any rush to seea quick(undervalued) offer.
I'm quite happy to hold for the next 5 to 10 years as long as we progress.
Solgold shsrehilders, the PI base at least, is in general very fatigued. Many wanted a takeover 2,3 years ago. The demographic of PI holders frankly shows many of the older generation and they simply don't want the uncertainty of the company continuing. They'd favour 50p in the next 6 months than £1.50 in 2-3 years from now
Surely they wouldn't release pictures and news like this unless some kind of funding or deal has already been done?
Surely helping the price up before buying is not the way to go for Mitsui.
News tomorrow or the weekend?
Am I being over optimistic?
