>>If the gypsum has been chemically cracked, at least 90% of the REE must be recovered.
Based on what metric?
RBW are the first company who are successfully extracting RE from Gypsum. Their method, when the pilot plant has run, to define the standard.
In comparison ionic earth extraction from 0.1% RE content can be 50%. Hard rock is 60-70%.
Nobody is extracting 90%.
>>1320 ppm REE remains in "pure" gypsum
No,. The REE (12+ elements) are extracted to a sulphate.
Only the four commercially viable RE's are extracted. The rest are stored for future processing if uses evolve.
>>Accordingly, 3.08 kg of separated magnet rare earth oxides are extracted from one tonne of phosphogypsum at an average cost of US$33.86/kg in the amount of $104.3.
So, cost of processing is $104.
Income is
3.08 x $60 = $180 (current ndpr price ignoring vat, discounts, two minor RE extracted.)
$100 gypsum credit
$10 environmental clean up credit
Total $290 income for $104 production cost
