“World’s largest” renewable hydrogen factory starts fit out

The fit out of ITM Power’s new 1GW factory in Sheffield, UK will begin tomorrow, the energy storage and clean fuel company said today.

It includes an extension to the existing offices, extension of the stack manufacturing and production areas, as well as a test room for factory acceptance testing of products, all coupled with a 5MW power supply on site for factory testing of products.

The factory will enable ITM Power, through standardisation, modularisation and the employment of world class practices to reach a capacity of 1GW within three years.

The programme of works, to be carried out by Clegg Group, will last 30 weeks and the site will be ready for occupation in Q3 2020 by staff, and open to visitors shortly after that.

Graham Cooley, CEO, commented: “I am delighted that this milestone has been achieved and look forward to welcoming Clegg on site in early January.”

“This fit out will see ITM Power undertaking state-of-the-art manufacturing and reducing costs and lead times to access the many opportunities arising from the joint venture with Linde.”

I note that Finisar will be coming on stream H120. Hope we can remain market leaders don't lose share to new operations. Always worried anout losing our dominance.

I personally think we have been expecting too much from the Weald....hoping it would provide the cash flow from Brockham and HH to keep afloat. This policy is not living up to expectations hence current position. I wonder what our resident oil experts employed to see the way forward are up to now? My view is that ALBA are in rather a good position over at HH. UKOG's confetti share dilution is much reduced in its effect on our holding there. No doubt somebody will disagree..... As for losing our stake, I think thats boll*cks!
