RE: Suspension ?26 Apr 2025 10:14
"Suspension:
A temporary halt in trading of a company's shares, usually due to reasons like non-compliance with listing requirements, a need to protect investors, or a pending event that needs to be clarified.
Delisting:
The permanent removal of a company's shares from trading on a specific stock exchange. This can happen for various reasons, including:
Voluntary Delisting: The company decides to delist its shares, often for strategic reasons like seeking a private ownership structure.
Involuntary Delisting: The stock exchange delists the company's shares due to the company's failure to meet ongoing listing requirements or for other reasons that make it unfit for continued trading on the exchange.
Relationship between Suspension and Delisting:
A suspension is often a precursor to delisting. If a company fails to address the issues that led to the suspension within a certain timeframe, the exchange may proceed with delisting.
In essence, a suspension is a warning sign, and a delisting is the consequence if the situation is not resolved. "
