In my opinion this time round they are very tactical and are designed to limit damage to the economy. A 2 week lockdown after Christmas is a good thing for all involved. It limits the spread therefore reduces the risk of a full harsher lockdown. Lockdown isn't bad for us. It's good for us provided it ends when the government suggest it will.
