You don't take into account the advance in AI which has been used to manipulate the world as well as the markets.
Robert Mercer has made his billions by creating an algo that prdicts market movements. This mean there are identifiable reasons they happen.
If you can identify the causes you can make them happen with many small automatic trades.
If you don't think a company the size of BHP won't manipulate the market to get a resource this size for the best price you are a sadly mistaken. The circumstantial evidence rather over rides your sweet and honorable impression of the way the world works.

So, if they have "informal information" it's illegal and if they become and insider and were trading to suppress the share price based on the information that would also be illegal?

As NCM and BHP do not have representatives on the BOD of SOLG, would any information outide of that available in the RNS's be considered to be insider information?

My thoughts are that, while the big boys might want open pit to get very low grades, and let's not be fooled by the TA rns, they were very low. Is it really worth upsetting the locals to mine 0.2%cu eq. Its not even 0.2 copper, that's everything. Love him or hate him, Nick's done a great job of keeping the locals happy. I can't see open pit doing the same.

If you don't get why nick is a big advocate of block caving and has tried to stay away from open cast you have a big shock on the way when the company try to get permission.

When you write a report using abbreviations or initials it is customary to write the words in full with the abbreviation in brackets the first time it's used so reade3rs know wtf it means.
It becomes fairly clear what the Initials mean but its rude and amateurish the way they write reports.
