The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
We’ve had some so bad, so horrible we’ve had to cut the project short within days.
(I have a thing with my people…”if you ever dread coming to work or picking up the phone…I’ll dump the client”) – even if the CEO is a friend. Life is too short to get screamed at for a week….emotions…..frustrations…..we can handle.
Really nasty - forget it. Life’s too short.
SOLG is a dream.
As the purpose of Sean being engaged with the investors It's a good idea to share it all.
Happy to fill you in.
I was brought in to update the company contact list.
It’s a neat niche our family business operates in, but it brings serious value to the people and companies we do it for.
For the record, I don’t do it on a whim.
Because the second I put my name out there, I get inundated with friends and peers from all over the world asking me the same questions….so I end up “owning” whatever story I’m personally attached to for life….
Someone asked me one day, “how do you choose the people or companies you work with?”
My answer is simple; I only work with people I would invite into my home or leave alone with my kids.
I don’t play the undervalued card like most.
Truth is that a company is very specifically valued at the close of every day.
Everything else is dreaming.
The only way a stock goes up, is when the company is accomplishing real stuff.
But I do think SOLG is on a very good track with the right CEO, and an amazing project.
I’ve worked as a senior officer/registered insider of several explorers, developers and producers and I am connected to a lot of people smarter than me who are saying the same positive things about the company.
What’s interesting about today – is the environment is changing fast.
Normally, a developer or producer spends 99% of their time communicating with their largest shareholders/institutions…..those convenient days are done.
Why?
Because a single shareholder who only owns 500 shares of the company may be posting 20 things a day on social media.
In our company we call it the rise of the ants……..one little ant may be connected online with millions of other ones…and suddenly….those ants can sway votes….
I can’t say the name, but a CEO friend had 150,000 shareholders on their list.
90,000 of them voted against everything…..
Scared the Board like you wouldn’t believe.
90,000….INDIVIDUAL shareholders.
Little guys….sitting in front of their screens….talking to everyone.
Call a major mining company IR department ….see if you get a call back.
You won’t. They only care about their institutional holders….for now.
So, what we do, is make sure those ants feel part of the story.
And great things can happen….I can actually see a little uptick since we started calling people. Now you know. 😊
We don’t just call retail, sometimes we stumble upon very serious institutional people along the way also….we never prejudge…we treat every call like a KING OR QUEEN.
Because we never know who’s on the other end of that phone.
What I can share, is there has been overwhelming positive comments come back at me.
All bs aside….when you reach out to 100 people a day….you can expect a myriad of emotions…..BU
