Really interesting dynamic this morning with the MMs nowhere near the action. Nearest to the BID is 277 and the ASK is 255. Oh and there is an order on the books for 200,000 at 240p.

Some people won't bother checking the registered holding numbers and won't understand this is the effect of dilution and then panic like jelly legged wobblers.

MM's are under no obligation to denote whether a trade is a buy or a sell. This is purely a calculation by reporting systems taking anything below the mid-point of the MM Bid or Ask levels as a sell and above that as a buy. They are also under no obligation to trade at those published levels, this is purely an indication to brokers to provide an indication of what sort of volume and price an MM will trade at.

The current mid in reality at the moment appears to be around 186.15p so anything above that is likely to be a buy.

Shareholders have until the 28th to accept the offer and it's only at that point they know the subscription take up and then the allocation will be decided so there is absolutely no way you can assert it's under subscribed! I have applied for 10 times the amount I am granted and I suspect many others will too.

No problem raharh, Contract For Difference. A CFD is effectively a bet on the direction of a share price without taking ownership of the share. The benefit of this is you can trade in either direction and profits are (generally) tax free. The downside is the spread is usually significantly wider than standard trading. I use both, I buy shares to invest and use CFD's to trade, sometimes even on the same company, effectively hedging.

raharh, it was actually a CFD so no need to borrow shares to short. But the rest of your assumption is correct and no, we wouldn't know what price they opened it at.
