My understanding was it is gas stations and small convenience stores in the US so they should stay open I would have thought. If you look at https://uk.investing.com/indices/major-indices it will give you an indication of what the other markets are doing in the east as they get started before us. I Just don't know if the stock market here takes a dump, whether it will drag the stock price down as well.

Yes I think they will. 15.86 % at the end of the day and the FT flatlined pretty much. The Nas is up about 100 points 1.34% so if the US ends on a good day then that should follow into the Nikkei tomorrow. if it does and the other markets end positive ( and I know that's a big if ) when we could see further rises tomorrow.

It doesn't cost much to start an opencast gold mine. You need one excavator (with ripping claw and bucket) dump truck, rock crusher and shaker table and 3 people. you just need to know where to dig and have permission.
