Draft, agree completely. Posters who have done a U turn have gone for the sell and try and buy back lower option. Perfectly reasonable strategy of course. Just lose credibility when suddenly change message too, as if there is new news. Nothing fundamental has changed in the last few weeks. Localised outbreaks were expected. Mass movement was not likely until a vaccine came, and it's still coming with positive news recently. So all that's happened it there is some serious shorting of stock, not just Rr. News outlets spreading doom and gloom provide fertile ground for rumours of placing etc and Preston share price drops.
This company isn't going to go bust, so I'm happy to keep lowering my ave. Currently at 295 and I'm pretty sure in 5 years, I'll be more than fine. So drops help anyone in it for the long term. Particularly helps short term traders, but not many can successfully make money trading. Good luck.

Info below is in public domain so all the chatter on no vaccine till middle of next year is probably slanted towards creating a negative sentiment.
No research committee would allow a trial without built in periodic analysis to see if there is a clear picture of the vaccine working. If its clear to see, interim results may even be announced earlier. Does anyone really think they will sit on information like that with a pandemic devastating the world? DYOR.

Nomad, my reading if the arrangements is that they are already producing the vaccine alongside the trial. It's precisely to avoid delays. If the vaccine doesn't work, its wasted, but governments have pre-paid for it to derisk the private firms like AZ.
If vaccine works however, they will be ready to roll out pronto. If I read right, these will be ready in September.
So, if vaccine result is good, we are a couple of months away from inoculations starting.

Thought I had a fair idea about this malarkey but have to say, watching my portfolio 10% down is not nice on the old ticker!
There is some serious bear activity on. However, vaccine news is not that far off an a hint of good news and we should have an equally robust bull run.

Yes, agree. If there is a clear signal initially that the results are good, they will accelerate the programme. In this pandemic, usual timelines are shelved. A lot of development is in parallel so good results and things may happen very quickly as vaccine production is already in full swing. If results are neutral, they will carry on collecting data. Bad results, and all shares will tank. Anyway, it will not be long before we know.

I agree. Price not decided yet. Major holder undertakes to take up pro rata amount of RI, means all holder will be given the opportunity. Qatar could easily have underwritten the whole amount if they wanted to. Other ii will not want Qatar to increase proportion of company as their influence will get even stronger.

Significant news and will be received well by market.
Once vaccines are in use, this will substantially alter direction. This cash raise provides handy insurance anyway.

Newbee 2020, only you can decide that. My take, and what I'm doing is holding. If there is a rights issue, I will take my allocation.
Despite all the gloom, I am pretty confident we will have a vaccine based solution by Oct. Uk, EU, USA will be fine as we will receive the doses early. May take up to mid 2021 before there ate enough doses for the rest of the world.
If there isn't a vaccine, we're all in deep trouble and no share price will be of any consequence. So I'm staying put. ATB

Triumph 1, I don't think that comparison is right. Cine evidently being shorted so the turn will come, not based on opening but IMO, when shorters decide risk of rise too high. This signal will need data and positive news of footfall after a week of opening may be it. Hopefully. Quite a bit underwater here despite averaging down this morning. Cine has liquidity to see this fallow period through so I'm not unduly worried. Just peeved I timed my buy so wrong!

You are not alone. Lots of us underwater here. It's being shorted and more. Just need to ride it out. My head also firmly in the sand!

So, while it frustrating, its allowed me to slowly accumulate on the dips. Just need to keep the faith. This is a temporary problem. In two years, it will have cleared up. When I was a newbie, my mistake was to panic and sell too soon. Now I can afford to sit it out. Just going to top up on dips. ATB
