Thanks for sharing Jm4tw - interesting and very plausible. I think the 'bundles' that Netflix and Amazon can offer along with membership will make this a value proposition for them. Plus they can sell other stuff in the galleries etc - I'm thinking film mechanise etc. The law has changed recently and I would be very surprised if there wasn't quite a lot of competition to buy cinema chains - studios will not want to be negotiating with big business like Amazon - so may just buy the cinemas themselves. It is going to be an interesting period and we have just started on this process. I'm holding on to my shares for sure!

Pattern seems to be dips caused by or to hit stop losses. Normally a sensible precaution, but with this being so volatile and seemingly short of stock, it may be prudent to remove stops if you don't want to be taken out in the swoop and grab. DYOR.

Media outlets are being used to recycle old news that seems bad. This is probably entirely for a purpose and IMO that is to drop SP so the big wigs who went short can bail out - at our expense. Not mine. Stay long and all will be fine. Nice to see it break back and hold over 270. Slow and steady is better than a spike and retrace. ATB

laidback, that is definitely a plausible theory. My take is Cine will get bought out and Mooky will do a deal to secure his position to run it and retain a substantial stake etc. In truth this will not matter for most of us if the take over is over 1.50 - I for one will not complain. I'm still underwater at 62p average - shame I wasn't brave enough to commit more when this went to 33ish. Was spooked by the doom mongers. Anyway, whilst the rise is welcome, I am not really celebrating yet. ATB.

A decent recovery. Long way to go but one feels the sell was overdone and this will settle into z range of 265-285 until the overall situation improves or positive vaccine or treatment news arrives.

Laidback, agree entirely. The anti trust ruling will lead to a scrum to buy out cinema chains. How convenient that the shorters have knocked cine so low, they can just pile in and buy at bargain basement prices.

Sunday papers should give more hints of what next week is going to bring.

Arsenal, you and I agree on this apart from your choice of club name. I did support Arsenal once when AW was in charge. Liverpool all the way since really Benitez. I know there was an overlap, but my first, second and third club has always been Liverpool/Arsenal/MU. I know a huge contradiction in itself but there you go.

Agree entirely. It was always a possibility and a plan to have an RI - not a foregone conclusion. The RR statement said so explicitly to counter the gossip being put about to cause a panic. Time and events to come in the next 3 months will tell. A successful vaccine and its clear for take off. If there is no vaccine, we are in for a rough time and I don't mean just the equity markets - the world will have a massive problem and we will have more to deal with than a bit of money lost on this share. Anyway, vaccine news so far is good so let's stay optimistic. No reason at all currently not to be.
Im pleased the SP has held on to the gains and I am happy with a steady rise rather than a spike.

I'm still annoyed with my initial investment timing but glad to see some sense returning in terms of company value. Still underwater however so not rejoicing yet. My wife is less mad at me, so thank goodness for that! Keep telling her its a long term venture but seeing portfolio in red is not helpful!
Virgin news is interesting - whilst the company is going under, plenty of people ready to take hold of assets and keep planes in the air. The RR model of receiving payment is probably not affected adversely therefore so fingers crossed rally continues slowly.

Webbs, feel for you. This was always the risk of selling to buy in cheaper. I've taken the approach of buying on dips, all be it, knowing how far it would dip was unknown. Last top up was at 215. Hopefully the last needed. I'm still averaging higher than most at 288, but I'm pretty sure it will be fine in 5 years time.
I'm not really sure why people aren't buying more at these levels. This is clearly being shorted and will inevitably go back to significantly higher SP. People are speaking of RR as if it was a minor company trading on the AIM market.

Draft, good luck with your decisions. I'm staying and will very happily take up my share options in an RI, if there is one. I know IAG is being quoted as the equivalent, but timeframes are different as commercial aero is not the only source of income here. Patience and time is key. This is being played on fear and the fear will evaporate soon. We are in Aug and vaccine news is due in Oct-Nov. Only a matter of time. ATB

These prices are crazy. People love cruises. Once a vaccine is in place, the SP will go significantly higher. The risk was running out of money and going bust. The liquidity has been clarified and will be more than enough to see out the period until vaccinations are done. I've take a position on this basis. ATB.

Vaccine news will change everything. Things will change in an instant. Have faith. But agree, company needs to come out and say so one way or another.
