Agree it's not a mediocre virus. However, your numbers are very flawed. Your mortality percentage is an overestimate due to lack of data on actual infections. We've only recently started mass testing. No of infected vs no of deaths data is unknown. Using currently available numbers will inflate significantly the death rate. Which may be convenient if that's ones agenda.

I'm glad it's not just me that thinks this is good news. Closing and conserving cash burn is the only sensible thing to do. In the absence of furlough scheme, job losses are inevitable.
Mothball, renegotiate debt repayments and wait. Nothing else to do. Glad the BoD have taken decisive action. Worse would have been to dither and delay, burning more cash.

Anyway, agree bond being delayed is not great. However, it increases the film release in 2021 and the bounce back will be spectacular. Meanwhile, yes SP will drop on Monday as people panic sell - that is fine. Opportunity to hoover up cheap shares for those who have the patience to wait 12M. ATB and have a good weekend.

Once the hype of electric and hydrogen settles, oil will return as the only affordable option for the masses. The champagne socialists can still buy their electric cars and feel smug. Oil is needed for so many things electric cannot replace. Once planes and ships get going again - all oil shares will have a huge rise - just wait 6 months or so. ATB

This will raise more cash on top of RI and loan - no more cash needed unless pandemic lasts all of 2021 too - in which case we are all doomed anyway .

Compared to previous investors including big institutional investors. I expect pension funds will now consider this a safe bet. IMO

Not unfathomable that institutions will now buy in as there is now a plan to ride out this downturn. SP fell on fear of the rights issue and shorts may well close now. I am not entirely sure this will end in the red today. Will start with a panic drop but let's see at the day end. Eventually after new shares are in, will I agree settle in mid 50's - not mid 90's I posted earlier.

MOOla, Yup, agree. There have also never been so many big pharma and biotech companies collaborating to produce effective vaccines. I too would not take the Sputnik vaccine, but to say Oxford/AZ, Pfizer, JJ etc are going to mass market something not tested is just scare mongering and selfish. They have all signed up to a position statement guaranteeing not to bend to political pressure and only release the vaccines when scientifically tested as safe. I will take mine when it arrives. We are lucky in the UK that we will have free access to this and early. Let's be grateful an accident of birth gives us privilege that vast areas of the planet lack.
If a vaccine was not required because the virus is so benign, why on earth are the WHO and other independent organisations calling for it? We need a significant proportion of the population to take the vaccine to develop herd immunity and protect the elderly and those with weak immune systems who can't take the vaccine. Not taking one is just selfish IMO. Spreading fear about vaccines is poor, but why am I constantly surprised how low people will stoop to make a bit of cash?

Hosai, completely agree. They need to let Uni students get on with it. Whilst at University, they are in a bubble with other youngsters. Risk of even needing to be hospitalised is minimal. Better still, when at University, they are away from their grandparents. It's in fact the best option currently. How I wish we had a govt with the courage to take tough decisions. Sadly the gov't is in the grip of the media that loves to be negative.
Instead, we will see the inevitable cancelled university and misery for our youngsters who are the ones who will be paying for this economic ruin for the next 30 years.

Rocket, exactly. Rumours of rights issue have been the reason for the drop from 400 to 150. Orchestrated probably to give the big funds a lot more leverage. All IMO but the system is corrupt and the press are in bed with the banking system which is used to manipulate at will. Small PI's can ride the waves and hope to pick up the left overs. Anyone gloating they saw this and that, made some lucky calls and just that. Good for those who did. Personally, I am just adding as I can and will just wait. Will RR go bust? I think not. Therefore I will give it time and ignore the noise. Yes, may go to 1£. Maybe, maybe not. If yes, will buy more and enjoy the inevitable rise when the big fish have had their fill and it goes back up. Are easy targets for takeover firms. Never been a better time. Easy money for big American groups. Not great for UK plc long term but Brexit and covid has provided the perfect storm. Anyway, make some money from the shenanigans if you can. ATB.

Well put. It's required for responsible accounting practice. This was a profitable company in Feb and come next Feb, will be again. Buy now at about 40p and wait or put the cash under the mattress. I know what I will be doing. ATB
