Happy, agree. If the results are announced officially and Trump does lose, he will be persuaded to leave gracefully (or at least to an extent) by the republican party. He can actually go with a fair amount of self respect intact, given he has had a pretty decent run despite the opinion polls and massive turnout.

Are utterly confused. No one knows who has won or will win. No one seems to even know who will be better for oil stock or indeed for the economy. Too many unknowns including of course what impact Biden will have with regards Covid 19 pandemic and if that is good or bad for the economy short term.
In other words its utterly impossible to predict. This is when one should sit back, not panic and wait. Nobody knows so what is the point in trying to buy/sell - toss of a coin stuff - best not to do anything. ATB

Shutting down when Mooky did, was an excellent call. Now employees still on payroll can be furloughed too and limit cash burn. A month will pass soon enough. Plenty of time for good news to arrive. Can't really get too much worse so just need to stay patient now.

Will really be an issue once a vaccine is here. We are on the cusp of another lockdown to ensure folks have a decent Christmas. That much I agree with. However, SAGE have thrown Boris under the bus with all the leaks. Shame on them but they have been waiting for a long time for a relevance so who can blame them for a bit of glory hunting. Anyway, let's wait a few more weeks and all the minor issues will be long behind us. ATB

And hence why preparations are already underway to sort out logistics. Was never going to be easy. Hopefully the Astra vaccine and J&J vaccine (particularly J&J as it is a single shot) will have a positive outcome - these will be easier to distribute as they are more traditional vaccines and so the infrastructure is already there.

Fingers crossed for recovery unlike ruddy BP. In terms of a vaccine, there is little point in me entering a debate. People seem polarised based on their position in these stocks or prejudice. I would happily debate the scientific merits of covid-19 vs other viruses etc but this would involve unmasking myself and it's not safe on an anonymous chat board. So I will leave it there and let's all just see what happens. ATB

Anon, you are entitled to an opinion of course. Your argument is riddled with flaws the main one being if it mutates like you say it does.....We will never have a vaccine that will work, doesn't matter how long you test. Testing is being done and the regulator will use the same rule to judge safety as they do for every other vaccine. It will only be approved after that. To not take it is your choice. But in my opinion a selfish one. Hope you stay safe.

Ok, markets are in a panic. However this doomsday chat is way off the mark. Who says vaccines will not work? Never before has so much effort and resource been provided to vaccine development. More likely we will end up with several that work let alone none. This negative mindset is great for those who want to profit from a falling price. Fair cop. But for the rest of us who care about the world we live in and our freedoms, please stop peddling misinformation.

Ditto. Have add3d a bit more but cash is low so sadly need to wait until this panicking stops and some sense returns to markets. Hopefully we should get an approved vaccine in a month and that will calm nerves. Until then just need to patiently wait and keep ignoring how in the red my portfolio is!

Market always over reacts. Buy more if you can. Vaccine news will come in a matter of 2 to 3 weeks and calm nerves. Honestly headless chickens comes to mind.

Market is in the grip of fear. It's as if a vaccine is completely disregarded. Give it a month and the tune will be different. Meanwhile, take the 8% divi.

Considering BP and Shell mirror movt, the BP results should provide reassurance here too.
