Just noticed that the Afrimin Resources LEL is now active. No other changes that I can see.

Yes. I thought he came across very well. A few nuggets of information that I hadn’t heard before too. Clearly we’ve had a lot of interest from other companies before signing the EA with Anglo American, he mentioned a near neighbour who had been on site (First Quantum maybe?) and also the Chinese had been on site several times.... good to know we have plenty of backup options!

Coming to the end of the tax year may be playing some part with people selling to take advantage of allowances. We might well see the reverse next week as people look to invest in the new tax year.

It could well be of strategic importance in the future. All we are seeing at the moment is the shallow target areas which are not necessarily where deeper targets may be. Having access to the Afrimin area would keep options open when it comes to mining.

Its interesting that the Afrimin license application was already in place before the new Zamsort area was updated... makes me think that this was planned in advance unless they somehow knew what Zamsort’s new area would be. Maybe I’m reading too much into that, I don’t know.

Ella, yes I think you are probably right. From the mining regulations:

“ The Mines Act provides that an exploration licence shall be valid for an initial period of four years and can be renewed an additional two times for a period not exceeding three years each. Further, the holder of an exploration licence must relinquish 50 per cent of the exploration area at each renewal. The maximum duration of an exploration licence from initial grant is 10 years.”

Yes I had the same feeling Ella, hence I've also been checking it regularly myself. It's hard to know exactly what this all signifies but hopefully it's a sign of positive progress. Fingers crossed for an RNS this week.

I took a look the other day and as far as I can see, all the major targets are still in the Zamsort / Zaco areas. The drawing up of the Afrimin area had been clearly planned to leave out those areas.

Oops, meant Large Scale Mining license...

Well either thats a mistake with the overlays or we have an RNS on the way. I did speculate over the weekend that they might be preparing to split the area for a Large Scale Exploration license on the high priority part.... Worth keeping an eye on for sure.

Should have also said the Afrimin application is now validated and pending MLC decision.

Something has chaned with the Zamsort license area.... its now active rather than pending but the area is different.... could be a mistake or....

Hopefully we will gain wider exposure during the current mining Indaba. Nice timing that there is a new broker note out.

We don’t know if this planned exploration is being done at the request of AA before a firm offer is agreed but, if it is, then it seems unlikely to me that we will be entering a joint venture and much more likely that it will be an asset purchase. In that case its the value of the assets which is all that matters, not the market cap. After all would Rothschilds get involved with a minnow like us unless there was a very significant deal to be done? I don’t think so.

All speculation of course, but there’s not much else to do at the moment!
