Seeing Machines Limited (AIM: SEE, "Seeing Machines" or the "Company"), the advanced computer vision technology company that designs AI-powered operator monitoring systems to improve transport safety, has been appointed by an additional global Automotive Tier 1 supplier to deliver its FOVIO Driver and Occupant Monitoring System (OMS) technology to an additional North America-based OEM."

Seeing Machines Limited (AIM: SEE, "Seeing Machines" or the "Group"), an industry leader in computer vision technologies which enable machines to see, understand and assist people, has secured a program design win, working with a major Tier 1 partner, with a global US-headquartered automotive OEM. As a result of the design win, the Group expects to deliver its FOVIO driver monitoring technology into multiple vehicle platforms for mass production from 2020.

The estimated revenue value of this program is over A$50M based on initial included models and lifetime volume projections.

"DMS is on the road today in systems like General Motor's Super Cruise™ and can tell whether the driver is engaged in the driving task or is distracted," said Seeing Machines CEO Paul McGlone. "If the driver is distracted, driver monitoring systems have the ability to warn the driver and save lives."



The safety provisions would require the National Highway Traffic Administration (NHTSA) to carefully research DMS systems and begin the rulemaking process to regulate this technology.



This legislation comes at a critical time in the United States. Early estimates from NHTSA point to a 9% increase in traffic deaths in 2020. In 2019, 3,142 people were killed due to distracted driving, 10,142 people died by alcohol impaired driving, and 697 people were killed by drowsy driving. DMS has the potential to reduce or eliminate all of these crashes. "

“Additionally, nearly 5,000 people were killed in crashes involving large trucks in 2020, and 159,000 people were injured in large truck-involved crashes in 2019.” There’s a need to mandate aftermarket tech to mitigate distraction & fatigue in all vehicles >10,000lbs too.

Seeing Machines and CAE Australia to deliver Crew Training System for Australian Defence customer

Yes. So as you saw, we had tremendously strong results, both in auto and IoT and record results in both in the fourth fiscal quarter. You're right, going into the first quarter, we are forecasting in line sequentially. And one of the key factors there is still we are supply constrained, and we are making certain decisions given the strong handset market in that quarter to allocate supply a little differently based on profitability.

But really, when you think about the draw demand from the customer continues to be very strong, and so we're confident that when you look at second fiscal quarter or look at fiscal '21 going to fiscal '22, both those businesses will grow in a very strong fashion

Yes. We're very excited about the Veoneer acquisition and Arriver technology. As we said before, we're the natural owners of good assets. We believe we're on track to get the ability to get all the approvals and close on this transaction.

And more importantly, as we had a business corporation in place with Veoneer prior to the acquisition, that remains unchanged and allow us to continue to progress toward our ADAS platform. We're getting incredibly positive feedback from the market from the ability to provide a truly open, horizontal platform for ADAS. And I highly encourage you to be at our New York Analyst Day. We have a lot more details to provide about what we're doing in ADAS and autonomy.
