Prompted by the post on here from Maplinman I have submitted the questions below in advance of the results and Q&A, I think they are fair questions submitted 10 days in advance so lots of time to consider them.
1) Forward Guidance
Can you provide headline revenue guidance for the next 3 financial years split by division and what are the main growth drivers for each division?
If you could include detailed P&L and cashflow forward forecasts within the year-end presentation or the company website that would be useful.
2) Key Financial Milestones
In which financial year are you forecasting to become profit making and what would need to happen to bring that forward?
In which financial year are you forecasting a revenue of A$500m+
What is the current value of the booked business for Auto, and when are you predicting that to reach A$1bn+
3) Auto:
Current number of Tier One partners and does this cover all regions?
Based on contracts won how many models of vehicles will be on the road in next few years, when are you predicting that booked business will be 100+ models?
You announced a license deal with Omnivision in Jan 2021, when do you expect a product to be on the market, is this still the only ‘silicon license for Occula’ deal signed?
What range of value are you including in financial forecasts for wins via Qualcomm?
4) Aviation
Can you provide an update on the L3Harris license deal, are you still expecting to close this deal, would any deal come with cash upfront as per the CAT deal from years ago?
Can you provide some detail on the growth strategy for Aviation, when are you forecasting a ramp up in revenue and what margin % is predicted.
5) Legislation
Can you tell us when you are expecting the Euro NCAP protocols for DMS and when it will come into force?
The recent US legislation activity is focused on Drink Driving, can SM DMS be utilised to detect impairment from alcohol? Does it require eye gaze vector and if so which DMS suppliers have that ability?
It has been stated that the impact will be an increase in volume and features, does this lead to an increase in revenue projections?
Colin Barnden predicts a 65% global market share for SM by 2026, in his figures he assumes very little in China for SM, do you agree with his prudent 65% or can you do better?
6) Fleet
Can you provide more details on the Shell Deal?
- Is it via a distributor or direct
- Who does the logistics
- Do we do the monitoring
- Do you expect Shell to offer the technology across its supply chain
- What’s the macro impact on our Fleet business over next 5 years
- Would Shell be a partner to develop the next gen Guardian product
- Will Shell be factory fitting in new vehicles
Which region has the most opportunity for growth over the next 3 years?
What margin does the Fleet business run at?
